Lovely peaceful morning spent wandering around the vast Badi palace ruins, former pools and sunken orange tree orchards. Even caught a few stalks nesting on the palace walls (10mad/ticket -don't bother paying the additional 10 for the minbar (large chair from which sermans were given)) The 16th century palace was built by Sultan Ahmed al-Mansour of the Saadian dynasty. It was looted only 75yrs later by Sultan Ismail Ibn Sharif to build hisown palace in his new capital city at Meknes with the rise of the Alaouite dynasty. (at Palais El badi)
