The Evening Sun, Hanover, Pennsylvania, January 12, 1922
I just want you to know that “The lying bitch who probably isn't even made of iron” is the funniest thing I have ever read and i am forever grateful to you for it
The avengers are FALSE ADVERTISING.
1. Captain America
Apparently America doesn’t even have the position of “captain”??? There’s only President America. Are you the president Steve??? ARE YOU??? Yeah. Didn’t fucking think so. Terrible deception. -2/10
2. Iron Man
You’d THINK he’s made of iron but nooOooOO let’s call a superhero “iron man” and not tell anyone he’s actually made of HUMAN FLESH and ANXIETY I’m fucking PISSED 0/10
3. Black widow
Not a spider (smh). As if that’s not bad enough, she’s actually a white and unmarried woman. Disgusting. -4/10
4. Hulk
Definition: an old ship stripped of fittings and permanently moored, especially for use as storage or (formerly) as a prison. NOT a big angry Shrek. The sheer absurdity of it all. -6/10
5. Hawkeye
has human eyes -900/10
6. Winter soldier
He was a soldier so I’ll give him that. But also can be seen during ALL seasons, NOT JUST WINTER. 5/10 for half truth
7. Spiderman
Ok see this is fair because he’s got spider in his DNA. I’ve only got one criticism and it’s that he’s not a man. He babey. 7/10
8. Ant Man
DISGUSTING. HORRIBLE. REVOLTING. NOT MADE OF ANTS. DOESN’T EVEN HAVE ANT IN HIS DNA. JUST BECOMES V SMALL AND V BIG AS PER WILL BECAUSE OF SCIENCE. ANTS D O NO T BECOME V BIG. SHOULD’VE BEEN CALLED ELECTRICAL ENGINEER MAN or ANT IMPOSTOR MAN. -80/10
9. Vision
he can see. 10/10.
10. Scarlet Witch
often seen wearing scarlet things. scarlet magic waves come out of her hands. So that’s nice. Is never seen brewing even one (1) witch potion (paprikash does not count) or casting spells. Does some weird hand wavy thing. Yuck. Not a real witch. 4/10
11. Quicksilver
was v quick. Not made of silver though. Yet another half truth I’m sick of it 5/10
12. Falcon
regular man. Can’t even fly without science wings. Is never even seen swooping down on his prey. Decidedly NOT a falcon. -59/10
13. War Machine
has done like 3 wars at least so that’s good. Unsure whether the “machine” part is referring to the metal onesie or the man inside it. I’m gonna go with the former because James Rhodes is a hero in his own right. 20/10
14. Thor
yeah. 1000/10

reading letters from 1818 is wild
“it’s that time of the year when I get colds for no apparent reason again” have some Clairitin hon
But also we’re not becoming allergic to everything nowadays like certain white moms fear. Allergies have always existed. They were just talked about differently
Like “oh clams always ~turn my stomach~”. Or “what a pity he was taken from us at age 5”
“Well we didn’t have all this fancy chronic illness stuff in the Olden Days, what did people do then??”
They died, Ashleigh.
This is a picture tracking bullet holes on Allied planes that encountered Nazi anti-aircraft fire in WW2.
At first, the military wanted to reinforce those areas, because obviously that’s where the ground crews observed the most damage on returning planes. Until Hungarian-born Jewish mathematician Abraham Wald pointed out that this was the damage on the planes that made it home, and the Allies should armor the areas where there are no dots at all, because those are the places where the planes won’t survive when hit. This phenomenon is called survivorship bias, a logic error where you focus on things that survived when you should really be looking at things that didn’t.
We have higher rates of mental illness now? Maybe that’s because we’ve stopped killing people for being “possessed” or “witches.” Higher rate of allergies? Anaphylaxis kills, and does so really fast if you don’t know what’s happening. Higher claims of rape? Maybe victims are less afraid of coming forward. These problems were all happening before, but now we’ve reinforced the medical and social structures needed to help these people survive. And we still have a long way to go.
some lady called the toad that we have at work “ugly and disgusting” and i am SO fucking mad rn
HE’S A GOOD BOY, HELEN!!!!

Everyone else: W… what’s that crinkling noise coming from inside the coffin
today i was talking to my therapist about being upset that my dad wanted a daughter and she told me 'your father is crying by a grave of his own making that has no corpse in it. you do not need to fill it for him and are not required to weep beside him' and I had to take a sip of water bc my mind stopped working for a moment
Well said! I like this therapist.
This is a thing that happens. It’s common that parents in particular “mourn” the loss of the person they thought their child was. It’s common. That doesn’t mean it’s really acceptable or healthy.
They’re mourning a mask instead of embracing the person under it, and the fact that it seems to happen to most parents doesn’t change that putting their child through that is a failure as a parent.
You shouldn’t have to comfort your parents as they grieve the loss of the person they allowed society to force you to pretend to be. They should act like parents and support you fully and unconditionally from moment one, and get their own damn therapist to deal with their shit and not let you see it if necessary. You shouldn’t need to be the one going to a therapist to deal with their issues.
My mother’s a complicated mess of a human being and I have a lot to complain about there, but one thing she did absolutely right is that when I came out the first words out of her mouth were “I knew, I was just waiting for you to be ready to tell me, what do you want me to call you?” and an hour later she had me trying on her clothes that didn’t fit her anymore. She stumbles over pronouns but has never failed to correct herself and has never once acted like she was somehow the one suffering for me being trans.
I knew a trans man whose mother came to support group meetings with him, not because she needed support or education, but to make sure everyone there knew how a parent should treat them and could have her as an adopted parent. Her husband said to her once “I’m mourning my daughter” and she immediately responded “No you’re not. You never had a daughter. You had a son and you just didn’t see it. Get over yourself and support him.”
If you coming out is causing your parents any kind of pain, that’s a character flaw on their part, plain and simple, and it’s not your job to feel guilty about it.
the moral of frankenstein is if youre going to build a monster out of dead body parts dont make him like 8 feet tall and super strong
or just love your super strong 8 feet tall son
Like, don’t abandon him because you are scared of him. Like you met him a second ago. He just wants a family
The moral of the story is that you need to be prepared for the realities of parenthood before you commit. Sometimes you get what you expected, sometimes you get an eight foot tall super strong patchwork zombie child, sometimes you get neither of those things. No take-backs.
One of the funniest things about this is that the creation is supposed to be “hideous”, but he’s described as looking like some kind of huge goth prince and… really doesn’t sound so bad.
That’s not what’s meant by “hideous” in the text. The creation is not “hideous” as in “aesthetically ugly”, it’s “hideous” as in ghastly, terrifying, shocking, unnatural, wrong, uncanny. Aesthetically the creature is described as “beautiful”, the way Victor painstakingly designed him. That’s why he’s described as sounding like a tall goth prince, and if you interpreted “hideous” to mean “ugly looking”, I can see why it would be confusing.
Moral of Frankenstein: love your giant goth son
real moral: if you don’t love your children you’re the real abomination

This is why they have such a problem with plastic bags. It’s because the unique structure of their esophagus makes it so that they can’t get rid of them.
