goal for the end of the month: finish my Luna / Theo fic
Would Hermione be a better Ravenclaw or Slytherin?
Holy Salazar, this got really long but you have no idea how much I LOVE doing character and house analysis…
I was recently asked which house I think Hermione would be sorted into, if not Gryffindor. Hermione’s secondary house has always been an interesting and complex topic. One that I am always eager to explore.
My thoughts on what house, if not Gryffindor, into which Hermione would be sorted stem from multiple points of view and canon interactions. Part of the reason this answer took so long to form was me organizing my thoughts because there are a lot of them on this topic.

how did jk manage to write ootp and not come to the conclusion that the only career w any true meaning for harry james potter was as a goddamn professor at hogwarts like how do u write the da scenes and say “nah he’d want to be a wizard cop”
#just let him dress in warm sweaters and have tea with neville in the staff room and help first years #harry james potter as hogwarts longest serving defense against the dark arts teacher fucking fight me (@batcii)
#but it would be so perfect??? #bc it would help normalize his life so much #like there would just be this generation of kids who are like #‘ugh who cares that he killed the dark lord he gAVE US HOMEWORK OVER BREAK’ #like the beginning of every year there would be the new first years who would freak out a little #but then it would calm down #and most of the students would literally forget #until like clockwork the fifth years would have their history of magic class on the second war #and they’d all show up to DADA looking a little awestruck and everyone would be extra quiet #and harry would give this kind of annoyed sigh—except it’s fake bc he TOTALLY knew this was coming #bc binns is a bro and he totally gives him a heads up every year #and harry wouldn’t have any lesson plans for the day and instead he would just sit at the front of the room and answer everyone’s questions #but otherwise everyone would just be like ‘professor potter!! i can’t get my patronus to work! help me!’ #and like they’d go home at the end of the year or for break and their parents—who ARE still starstruck by harry james potter #would pester their kids with questions#and the kids would just be like ‘merlin i don’t know?? potter’s such a huge dork you should hear him talk about proper wand movements’ #but they would all love him #and he would feel safe and normal and utterly accepted #AND I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE (via @cinematicnomad)
Not to mention it would be an ultimate Fuck You to Voldemort, who put a curse on the teaching position in the first place.
Like, Jo, I don’t want to tell you how to do your job, but COME ON
I already queued this but also, you do this, but still have Ginny become a famous Quidditch player. Imagine the first time Harry gets called “Ginny’s husband” before “the boy who lived” or “the chosen one.” Imagine how fucking pleased he’d be.
Imagine the first time a student comes up to him looking starry-eyed and Harry’s thinking “Oh no” because he doesn’t want to talk about Voldemort or the war but instead this little eleven year old is like “ARE YOU REALLY MARRIED TO WEASLEY FROM THE HOLLYHEAD HARPIES???!?? WHAT’S SHE LIKE?” and he’s like “oh thank god” because he could talk about Ginny all day.
Slytherins ...
“I’m not entirely sure as to why we’re all still roped to be the bad guys. Everyone looks for someone to blame and I guess we’re the scapegoats, after all most of the death eaters belonged to our house, a true tragedy. We are not all the evil-borns of pureblood and rich bigots. And as for Draco, he had no choice. Think about putting yourself in his shoes. If a powerful dark wizard chose you to carry out such a deed by threatening your loved ones and promising to torture everyone you know and love, what would you do? Of course those who aren’t familiar with this world nor the truth about us, categorise every Slytherin as evil. As the mascot of our house; snakes. They forget about our strength, intellect, resilience, cunningness, ambition, wit and creativity. They forget how we see what others don’t. Always somehow, a step ahead. Always aware. Almost too aware about the evil and good in this world. We make the world run. We push ourselves to achieve the impossible, the unknown, the great. Yet we’re all “bad”. We are romantics, the hurt yet the strongest. The hidden empaths. Our bravery lies in our thoughts and beliefs. We may not be the best at expressing our emotions, but that doesn’t mean we’re cold at heart and soulless. We are the cold but welcoming breeze in autumn. The moonlight on a summer evening. The tides in the ocean. And of course, the soul soothing rain. We teach others to hope even when there is none. To keep fighting even when you don’t want to anymore. Because we believe. We are the invisible dreamers, optimists, romantics, empaths, fighters and believers.”

Teddy waited the whole week to ask his godfather what he wanted to ask him.
-
Teddy: Granny asked me to ask you politely if you have time to take me to the Diagon Alley because it’smy birthday and Granny’s back is hurting but she said I can choose a present and I want a sword and a fish but only if I behave and don’t run Harry: Of course, Teddy.
new quiz y'all! worked on this until 4 am lol. reblog and tell me, what kind of supervillain are you?
For the true/false ask game, you like books but never have enough free time (or mental energy) to read them very often.
absolutely true, I'm working on it though... I have a few more months before I start my junior year at college so we'll see
*send a true or false for me to answer*
Guess something about me and I’ll respond with true or false
Moodboard/Charecter aesthetic I made inspired by some dark Fem Harry Potter fanfictions. Dont know if it's any good but I thought it would make a half decent first post!
oh btw, if y’all are in the pjo fandom, I just revamped my pjo blog— @biancadiangelo
Calling Slytherins sarcastic, edgy people who are always pissed off is all fun and games until you realize when those jokes are all you say about Slytherins or about being Slytherin is exactly what reinforces the stupid stereotypes
Slytherin is the whisper of “I love you” to your significant other, even if they are somewhere else.
Slytherin is the mumble of a “Thank you” that you’re too anxious to say any louder.
Slytherin is the little smile you do when you see your best friend.
Slytherin is the content sigh you make when you watch the moon through raindrops on a windshield.
Slytherin is the hum when you’re too happy to express it in any way other than humming and dancing around your kitchen.
Slytherin is the jokes that you make up, but no one hears them because you’re a quiet being and people don’t expect you to want to say anything.
Slytherin is the silent fuming under deep set, glaring eyes.
Slytherin is the feeling you get when an animal falls asleep on you.
Slytherin is the paint you somehow got in your hair after painting at midnight with your music blaring.
Slytherin is the tug on your heart when your so grateful for someone and can’t put it into words.
Slytherin is the quiver of your bottom lip when frustration bites you.
Slytherin is the groan when your friend makes a pun, but you secretly love those puns.
Slytherin is brushing you leg against your friend’s, letting them know “I’m here if you need to talk… Or need me to bury a body.”
Slytherin is sneaking into the kitchen with your friend at 2 am and trying not to hysterically laugh.
Slytherin’s are soft, they are not as brittle as some might think. And if you think they’re brittle just remember how easily brittle things can break. So let Slytherin’s be soft and delicate and warm.
Adding on:
Slytherin is the friend who will watch over you and your stuff while you nap on a bench, and the friend who lets you doze off on their shoulder in the middle of a movie.
Slytherin is the absurd romantic who brings a bouquet with your favorite flowers, who arrives at your door groomed to perfection and with hearts in their eyes when they see you.
Slytherin is homesickness and a relieved shout when they see friends they’ve missed.
Slytherin is a forced-out “I’m scared” between gritted teeth, because admitting it is just as terrifying as whatever it is they’re afraid of.
Slytherin is the friend who takes your side and reassures you when the friend group starts criticizing you.
Slytherin is the touch on your shoulder when you ask a question that everyone laughs at or make a joke that no one laughs at.
Slytherin is the slow to come but painfully earnest “I love you” whispered shyly into your shoulder as you embrace.
Slytherin is trust and assurance and “I knew you’d come through”.
Slytherin is perhaps the House that will put the most faith in other people; certainly it takes time, but once you have earned a Slytherin’s trust they are consumed by it. A Hufflepuff believes in fairness; a Ravenclaw believes in facts; a Gryffindor believes in ideals. A Huff will play Devil’s Advocate and speak of compromise; a Raven will point out empirical evidence and the accuracy of criticism; a Gryff will challenge anyone who questions the ideal. A Slytherin is the one who most believes in the individuals they prize, and it is nigh unshakeable. A Slytherin doesn’t care if you’re wrong; you’re theirs, so they’re on your side.
Let Slytherins get the love they deserve 2K17!

Slytherin is spontaneous chocolates for no other reason than to see the other person smile
Slytherin is struggling to hold back laughter at inside jokes with your friend
Slytherin is communicating without words because you don’t need them for what you’re trying to say
Slytherin is fidgeting fingers and a quick heartbeat before your first kiss
Slytherin is gentle touch on your back when you’re losing your nerve, saying it’s okay, I’m here, you’re not alone
Slytherin is a patient smile and a small nod when you need it
Slytherin is a steel stare and iron will
Slytherin is never ending encouragement, mixed in with honesty and motivational speeches
Slytherin is listening to your two am rambles and never once judging you for any of it
Slytherin is the insecurity that no one will ever understand you, listen to you, take the time to actually know you
Slytherin is a choked “help me,” because if we’re asking, then we really have hit rock bottom and need you more than anything

Slytherin is music blaring until three am, even if they’re alone, and singing at the top of their lungs
Slytherin is flowers slowly dying in vases, leaving their scent and petals behind as they depart
Slytherin is the tears in your eyes from laughing too hard with friends
Slytherin is the tears in your eyes when you have to leave something that you don’t want to just be a memory. You want it to stay, but gosh, you’re oh so tired

Slytherin is that smirk of victory when you archive something important or when you got good grades
Slytherin is keeping your friends close of you even if you don’t see each other often
Slytherin is a cold night where the stars shine at their brightest
Slytherin is planning a schedule, but going faster than planned

Slytherin is the 2 am silence
Secrets of Slytherin no.70
We’re not all stone cold. We are still human. We feel. We cry. We break. But we loathe anyone it see it. If you see us waver even a little, feel privileged we didn’t feel the need to put on a mask around you.
We mask what we are to protect who we are. We don’t do it as an insult rather a precaution. If you see us cry, realize it took all our trust and effort to let you see us so vulnerable. If you break that, break us, you’ll never regret anything more in you’re life.
I have this headcanon where some Slytherins that aren't really cunning and don't really talk back. Slytherins that are socially anxious and just want to be left alone, thank you very much. Slytherins that can be extremely sarcastic if they want to but just don't want to be bothered and want to keep quiet in their own world.
Yes, Nonnie, yes.
Slytherins that are silent most of the time, but when they do choose to speak, they leave you speechless
Anxious Slytherins who use their sly skills, not for personal gain, but to avoid social interactions they are uncomfortable with at dinner parties
Slytherins with a fear of public speaking who make deals with other students that whenever a teacher calls on them, the other student will answer for them
Slytherins who whisper their witty sarcasm in the back of the class rather than draw attention to themselves
Slytherins who master disillusionment charms in order to navigate the school without being bothered
Slytherins who spend hours up in the Owlry because they prefer the owls company to the constant bustle of other students
Slytherins having a certain abandoned classroom they study in, all in silent agreement that none of them have to speak to one another, not because they’re rude, but because they all feel more comfortable in the silence
I could go on…
