Welcome to the second edition of Anti-Tux-Tuesday!

Since last week we discussed outfits we'd rather never see again, this week we’ll focus on those that deserve to be remembered forever.

As always, we’ll have both movie costumes and personal outfits. Shall we get started?

The black emo-style turtleneck from season 7 (@librawritesstuff reminded me of it today), paired with that tragic lover’s expression, is just walking sex appeal — or in this case, even sitting!

2. Linen shirt of zen – the light blue shirt (even a bit wrinkled, after all, it’s linen) combined with those auburn curls is simply a very successful composition.

3. The well-known and much-loved blue suit of glow, styled two ways: with a white shirt and a dark shirt. I love both, but I prefer the one with the snug navy shirt of smugness.

4. The check blue coat of confection – impeccable classic style, with a bonus moustache.

5. Another, and I promise the last coat in this line-up, I don’t know what it is about it, but Evans looked fantastic in it.

6. The copper jumper – I know, it might be a controversial choice, but the jumper matched the hair colour perfectly, and Evans just looked adorable.

7. It may just be a simple t-shirt, but you have to admit that Evans has mastered the art of wearing black and white t-shirts to perfection.

8. Handsome boy-next-door look, in jeans and a checked shirt, especially when it's our boy.

9. And the big winner of today’s ranking (as if it wasn’t obvious) – the Boiler Suit of Lust. Is any further comment even necessary…

I’m aware that I’ve probably missed loads of outfits, so please do share your suggestions.

I believe he kept the Scottish coat and the emo turtleneck and worn them to events. I bet he kept that blue suit of glow too. I mean, why not when they’re tailored just for you?

He definitely kept the Emo turtle neck and the Scottish coat plus a number of other items by my reckoning (possibly including the snug navy shirt of smugness)

This may or may not be the emo turtleneck (I think this one is navy not black) but its one of my favourite 'him' looks - especially with that laugh..

And for on set hotness, I think this has to qualify... especially at that angle. You know... for reasons...

I also love the very fitted white shirt in S9... which for some reason I can't find a suitable picture of just now

Although nothing beats the BSOL for me...

And I thought I’d seen those socks somewhere before… Evans seems to have a penchant for those, I’m not sure what to call them, ‘braided’ patterns.

The acting in this scene is amazing. They could have so easily gone over the top with it but they never do. It's restrained in every way and all the more scorchingly hot because of that.

Season 2: Beat up twice, shot at, falls through rotted floorboards, shot at in car, threatened at gunpoint, imprisoned. [7 incidents this season, 10 cumulative] Highest number of per-season incidents in the series.

Season 3: Hit on the head, tiger attack, hit with a gun, threatened at gunpoint. [4 incidents this season, 14 cumulative]

Season 4: Hit on head with brick, dosed with psychedelics, likely mild concussion and hearing loss (proximity to grenade explosion). [4 incidents this season, 18 cumulative]

Season 5: Smoke inhalation. Choked and held at knifepoint. Shot at. Head injury from grazed rifle bullet shot. Strangulation attempt. [5 incidents this season, 23 cumulative]

Season 6: Caught in building collapse [1 incidents this season, 24 cumulative]

Season 7: Hit by bicyclist, attacked/beaten by crazed bad guy, shot at. [3 incidents this season, 27 cumulative]

Season 8: Threatened at gunpoint, threatened at gunpoint again, hit by taxi while drunk, falls down bus stairs while drunk. [4 incidents this season, 31 cumulative]

Season 9: Beat up at roadside by County cops, beaten then knifed by Lott. [2 incidents this season, 33 cumulative]

(That’s a LOT of paperwork for the Oxfordshire Police Health & Safety division. “Oh god, ANOTHER ONE for Morse? Can’t he just have a desk assignment?”)

5) Era: S6 of course; Quality: It's the actual Morstache. You either hate it or love it. There's rarely an in between—although sudden, unexplained switches from the first to the second are strangely common.

6) Era: Late Endeavour era; Quality: High; first time he's used this look in an actual role

7) Era: Era: Late Endeavour era; Quality: Questionable; but the photo on the left makes pretty much anything he may have done for the play worthwhile—and he does look adorable in the stocking cap on the right.

8) Era: Technically not even here yet (unless you live in Australia or NZ...I think?); Quality: Depends highly on your POV; some find the dirty-hot-psycho look highly appealing; however, many have reached the point of finding *any* look highly appealing—as long as Evans actually appears in something. So the jury is still out.

Knowing me, I probably managed to miss something—but this, in a nutshell, is the journey so far.
