My mom didn’t know what thot meant (she thought it was something like “lazy”) and my brother kept putting off taking out the trash and she called him a thot and he looked so betrayed
Can I be completely honest for a minute instead of my usual positive happy self?
It’s super duper frustrating when you put in the effort to come online and there’s like no interaction. Likes, not reblogs, no new asks, nothing. And maybe this is on me, I thought my new Marlene was going to be a hit. I figured when I’d come online, I’d get tons of asks (to me tons is like upwards of ten). People sent in asks before I even came online, so people must be excited, people must want to interact.
Maybe my online has sucked, maybe other, more popular people are online and no one cares about what I’m posting, maybe it’s just a bad time and people just aren’t on tumblr to see the stuff right now.
It’s just ever since my slight repose after exams when I didn’t really come online much, it just kinda seems like no one cares, and maybe that’s not what’s happening and it’s all my RSD or maybe people forgot about me during the month I was a lot more offline. All I know is I feel kinda crappy tonight and rather than just let those feelings fester, I’ll make a little post about it that I honestly don’t expect anyone to take the time to read.
this hit me, i feel like besides certain people, almost the whole community agrees with you and feels the same way about this. there’s a severe problem with lack of interaction (both notes and asks) that no one is talking about. it makes you feel shitty, unworthy, and like a bad rp-er. maybe content isn’t showing up for some people? im not sure but this is a severe problem and i completely see where you’re coming from
Not to be stupid, but it really does. We’re big enough of a community that after your first few onlines, the need to send yourself asks to even be able to make content shouldn’t be a thing.
People shouldn’t have to stockpile asks so they’ll have stuff to post during their next online. People shouldn’t have to reblog their own stuff three or four times just because they feel like no one has seen it.
It just really sucks, and it’s honestly why I took as long of a break as I did. Is it worth it to come online with your makeup and outfits you’ve bought for that character and spend all this time figuring them out, deciding how they’d react to each situation, only to get an ask, maybe two, that each get twenty liked and one reblog.
I feel this so hard that’s one of the main reasons I hardly come on cuz I know I wouldn’t get interaction its discouraging as hell.
I’ve mentioned this a handful of times and it’s been brushed under the rug as jealousy instead of becoming an actual discussion of ‘why do you feel that way’ so i concur with the above statements. I’ve had timed where I spent 8hr+ days (we probably all have at least once during this hobby) dressing up, filming, editing, refilming and then finalizing only to have nothing happen at all. No response. No likes. No critiques. Nothing. It got to a point where I wanted people to leave hate comments because it meant they saw what I created and didn’t like it…Which meant they took the time to tell me they didn’t like it…which is interaction. And that’s when I started to beat myself up to a pretty concerning degree. I spent hours of time burying myself in cool editing techniques and things to be flashy and amazing and eye-catching (I was never doing anything I didn’t want to do, because I always wanted to be better but still) so I could have a wow-factor and just ignore the fact that I wasn’t at the same level as other RPers (and didn’t have the time to truly advance on) only for it to fall flat and I felt my time was wasted and my effort poor. Before I post online, I felt like I’d done an amazing job, but because others didn’t think so, I believed I was wrong in liking what I thought others viewed as mediocre. I loved every second of what I did (minus editing because who likes editing) but it felt useless. So I stopped. It effected my offline life too, haha. To where people would ask me what was wrong, but I couldn’t explain it because it wasn’t a conventional problem so I just internalized it (that’s personal problem, but it did stem from lack of interaction online and offline).
Something that’s true is you should never focus on the likes and reblogs and notes and what have you…but we post online to get interaction. I’ve seen a few posts go around over the past year on this subject, and you can’t tell me you post on a public forum for no one to see what you do. That’s the point of it. You might not want popularity from it, but maybe you’d find a few friends from it. Whatever the reason may be, you post (creatively) online for interaction/connections. For example, people post their incredible makeup skills on Instagram because they want to…but also to gain interaction of people sharing their opinions, spreading it around, etc. Eventually a lot of those people end up being sponsored due to interaction. A lot of y'all post polls on things you don’t really need to ask the public about because you want interaction. This is clearly something that has me a little peeved, so I’ll stop here but I’m more than willing to have a further discussion on this.
I love gays who just watch the same movie over and over and over again because it’s comforting…you’re my people

How-to: Multiple lines within one gif
(( OOC: Hey guys! I’ve had a couple of people ask me recently how to make gifs that have multiple lines of dialogue in them like the example below, so I thought I’d make a quick tutorial.
