when miles is older, around 23/24, he publishes his first book. it’s a memoir. and it is, you guessed it, “looking for alaska.” just as john’s novel is written. it’s dedicated to alaska of course as well as the colonel, takumi, lara, his parents, and dr. hyde. it’s a big hit and it definitely gets his foot in the door of the writing world.
