Stage 22 - 36k - lunch at the dunphy park's farmers market in Sausalito, CA. Cheese sticks, organic cherry tomatoes, vanilla courant scone, pesto-provolone sandwich, wasabi pistachio... Lot of amazing food!
We can see the city!!!
Stage 22 - 20k - first stop of the day: coffee at "Marin coffee roasters & cafe" in San Anselmo. Amazing town, it is full of bikers everywhere!!!!
Stage 17 - 22k - "David, the local biker" We stopped for lunch in a park and met David: a fun local's kid who was riding his BMX along the road. He came to say hi, show us some tricks and share some knowledge with us about the area. Then we saw him few minutes later along the high way waving from a truck... What a lovely boy! Nice to meet you David :) make sure you keep training on your tricks!

Stage 22, only 30 miles to go :D. Woop woop!!
Stage 17 - 94k - Tonight we are sleeping at Burlington Campground, part of the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. We learnt today a bit more about the Rewoods and the avenue of giants. Here is a quote from the "for your knowledge" state park sign : "These coastal redwoods, the tallest trees on earth, reach heights of over 300 feet and live as long as 2000 years..." WOW!! Those trees were so fascinating that we en up riding in the dark! Just kidding... It is just because we are slow! :D We finally made it to the campground and met 3 new guys who were riding their touring bike with panniers AND Bob trailers... With a surfboard on the top! 2 guys from Lake Tahoe, one from Montana. Inspiring!

A quick post to say that we had some network issues for the past 3 days and it will remain the same for the next 2 days. So the live feed will be postponed one or two days!

Stage 16 - 87k - Sunset on Eureka, CA from the country while riding on the High Way to our campground... 1st sunset in California, Big time! :) WOOP WOOP! :D We end it up doing 107k!
Stage 16 - 58k - welcome to Trinidad! Some nice scenic roads will take you into a cute town made of "old-school looking" shops, eateries & at the end of main street you will find the historic red lighthouse (picture) on the sea side. A must seen! That's where we met up with Elysia before to choose our campground and have a delicious dinner with our new friend of the day: Sebastian from Montreal who's gonna continue with us probably until San Francisco and then heads to Los Angeles.
Stage 16 - 32k - After a big climb we entered one of the Redwood State Park for a long flowy downhill in the trees... The road is really scenic and the trees are just getting bigger and bigger! This road took us to the Elk Prairie State Park where we wanted to say last night. Disappointed by the first prairie (no elks), we followed the road and ends up to the second one full (a dozen) of Elks, males and females. Pretty exciting to see them in the wild. We are heading to the ocean now!
Stage 15 - 79k - slow time! We started the day by chatting, stopping, chatting, learning more about our biking friends, so it's been a long and slow day, we will do better tomorrow! We got a big time at this shop own by Kite, it was closed on Sunday so we decided to have lunch at the front door in case he will show up... And he did! So we fixed Emily's wheel (broken spoke), chat a lot with him and enjoy the sun for bit before to get back on the road.

Stage 15 - 12k - first "city sign" with San Francisco on it! only 361 miles to go! ;)
