nicky hemmick got himself out of an abusive home and found somebody he loved and who loved him back and then he gave it up to go back and make sure that his cousins didn't go through what he did. that's my one and only take. nicky hemmick you made a home that was safe for two kids who were ready to give up on a world that had only ever hurt them. you barely knew them but you knew they were family so you took three broken pieces and you made a whole. you made a house that was quiet at night, with doors that could lock and a table with food and it took years for them to come around but they did and you waited and you never fucking gave up on them not even when everybody else did. you built them somewhere safe.

A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.

Don’t you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that it’s helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.

Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.

I always focused sm on how homoerotic and weird kevin and andrew are about each other that this was Neil’s first thought. so its not until now that im realizing smth else. that means Neil is sure kevin is into men. like. he did not need confirmation on kevin’s sexuality, only Andrew’s. he really heard Kevin say “its easier if he remains heterosexual” and clocked his shit

I don't know if we realize how important the scene where Neil fights with Kevin in the bus bc he wants to sit with Andrew is FOR ANDREW.

Imagine being Andrew and meeting this kid who's all twitchy and beautiful and thinking he's an illusion but he's there. And he's giving his game to Kevin Day bc for him Kevin Day is everything there is to be and you know that Kevin lost it all but now there's this kid who listens to him ramble about exy and actually pays attention and cares about it when nobody else does and you know Kevin feels like he has something now so you are just waiting for that to happen like "just kiss already".

But you notice that the kid is also looking at you. And he's listening to you and watching. Always watching. Learning your language, getting what you mean without you having to explain. And that is just unsettling bc "what in hell is this guy doing?" What about Kevin?. So that just reaffirms that he's an illusion bc he's not for you.

And then you're in the bus heading to another game and you know the kid's excited and will probably ramble about it with Kevin for the whole ride so you're ready to just sleep thru it but wait. Bc he is heading to you. And he's arguing with Kevin Day and shutting him down bc he wants. To sit. With you.

And then you realize. You will give Kevin Day everything but not this. This is for you. This is for you bc he CHOSE you.

You're just this kid who always wanted but never got it so you stopped wanting bc "what is the point?". But now this illusion is here and he is choosing you so you will take it. You will take it and fuck everyone. This is for you. You get to have this.
