is gilligan's island the sequel to atoll k
but really. the "plot" chapters are engaging because the looming shipwreck makes the whole thing reek of desperation. but if you actually pay attention to the expositional chapters, you'll see that what's truly desperate is that ishmael dedicated his life to making sense of the senseless tragedy he experienced, only to be forced at the end to acknowledge that moby dick was just a whale, captain ahab was just a person, and everything that happened was completely meaningless
oh boy, I better enable notifications so I know right away when the new episode of gilligan's island comes out 8) can't wait 8)
Watching cats (1998) again but pausing every 10 seconds to see what coricopat is up to
film adaptation of moby dick that's a horror movie
There's also a Greek musical which seems quite good but I don't understand any of the words
btw I think that ishmael and fedallah don't share a common language. every line of fedallah's dialogue is pulled directly from ishmael's ass.
daniel emond's fedallah is possibly the most interesting character in this telling of the story though
Dave Malloy gets major credit for featuring ishmael (the narrator) as the main character, which no other adaptation I'm aware of does, but he loses points for calling the expositional chapters boring when they're 1) actually interesting, and 2) the whole point of the book. Bonus points for playing up ishmael and queequeg's relationship, which film and tv adaptations generally play down. And more bonus points for starbuck crying
He was just quietly pissed off the whole time. And I liked his intense face
the 2011 miniseries was quite bad imo but for some reason they did a good job with flask
all men live enveloped in whale-lines
My headcanon is that after giskard died, daneel borrowed gladia's makeup and smudged the eyeliner on purpose to make it look like he'd been crying
Hari Seldon and Gaal Dornick from the Foundation manga. I hope it’ll be translated into English at some point!
Here’s the official website!! They even have a page where you can see the designs for all the characters (link)
It seems like only the first 4 chapters have been uploaded online (and all in Japanese) but you can see them here too
Me: omg maybe I'm over this Asimov obsession
my brain: omg Elijah Baley Labubu
This is who Daneel Olivaw learned 5D chess from.
