Lunch break in Chandni Chowk. . We've wandered the vibrant streets of Old Delhi smelling of pepper and chai for about half a day. Locals come here to do their shopping and walk the laneways in search of fresh snacks, clothes or spices. But Chandni Chowk is an assault on all your senses. In a blink of an eye, we found ourselves pushing through a mad crowd of cars coming from every direction, tuk-tuks, ox-driven carts and lazy cows crossing the streets and blocking the traffic. You could only hear the harsh noise of constant honking, as all drivers were trying to make others aware of their presence. There are only two stories buildings in this old part of town and their once lively painted verandahs are now dusty and strangled by dozens of electric cables. Their ground floors were turned into small shops, overflowing with gold jewelries, metal pots, embroidered wedding gowns and spices. At lunch you could see the workers and vendors sitting on the sidewalk, reading their newspaper and catching their breath. . @passionpassport #PPTravelEncounters . . . . #selfietravellers #chandnichowk #lunchbreak #storiesofindia #olddelhi #indianworkers #indiaclicks #streetsofindia #everydayindia #thepeoplewemet #oldbazaar #colorsofindia #indiatravelgram #incredibleindia🇮🇳 #livetoexplore #livetotell #travelstoriesworld #discoverindia #delhite #streetphotographyindia #instadelhi #soindia #passionpassport #pptravelencounters #wheninindia #indiadiaries #traveldeeper #postthepeople (at Chandni Chowk)
