CORRECTION: it's a MINIMUM of two years. generally it's 100% of your wage in the first year, 70% in the second.
a dutch employer must also:
refrain from asking medical details. all they have a right to know is that you cannot work, the aspects of work that you cannot perform, and whether you're making efforts to recover
provide open consultations with a doctor specialised in occupational health
(partially) cover the costs of treatments that'll help you get back to work quicker and more sustainably
make efforts to prevent illnesses due to work (including burn-out and repetitive strain injuries)
provide temporary or permanent alternative working conditions (e.g., fewer hours, different tasks, ergonomic tools) if it's impossible or hazardous to the employee's health to (fully) return to their regular work and working conditions
provide assistance in finding an alternative employer if no suitable alternative work can be found within the organisation
the exact details can differ based on union agreements, the size of the organisation, specific contracts, and what have you. but this is the baseline for contractual permanent positions by law.
partially sharing because i have a lot of dutch followers this may sooner or later apply to, and partially to show the true extent of what's possible.
the dutch system is set up so that people can focus on recovery and making a healthy and sustainable return to work. in practice there's plenty of room for improvements on those fronts. but all in all, it's been shown to be more cost-effective than a continuous rotation of people getting more and more ill due to work until they reach a breaking point and have to recover for far longer than if those people had had the opportunity to recover at an earlier stage.
This only applies to workers in the eu with protected contracts. Workers in the eu who are NOT contracted - temp workers, service workers, interns, workers without papers, workers in unregulated sectors, gig workers, freelance workers, student workers, and others that i csnt remember off the top of my head - DO NOT get any of this !!!! Too many ppl imagine themselves to be part of the contracted middle class when they r actually the waiter who will be fired next week. Much of these worker protections enjoyed by contracted yuro workers exists bc 1. neocolonial wealth funneled out of the global south; 2. the underlayer of hyper exploited workers earning below min wage that work the undesirable jobs

to be clear since this is making the rounds: she has to be an absolute loser in no way that can be pinned on her gender. no "i'm just a girl tee-hee" stuff. straight up just a loser (nondenominational)
addendum: she must be the most important person in the whole narrative
I decided to sit down and concentrate and properly write the list of rules that qualify a character for this role.
FIRST LAW: This character must be a woman.
SECOND LAW: This character must be a loser, but not in a way that can be pinned on her gender. Misogynistic response from the audience does not disqualify the character.
THIRD LAW: If the audience does not enjoy this character, then it becomes impossible to enjoy the show/film/book/game altogether. It is not possible to ignore this character, for better or for worse.
FOURTH LAW: The character must make bad decisions, and not just be a victim of poor circumstances outside of her control. The character can also be a victim of poor circumstances outside of her control, but it has to be primarily her personal choices that deem her a loser.

I think ppl who believe hank has any kind of left leanings fall to the sitcom version of the george bush "he's a guy you can get a beer with" style propaganda, equating personal qualities to political qualities. the show lampoons some of hank's close-mindedness (his weirdness ab artificial insemination, for example) so it's harder to catch the ways the show legitimizes his bigoted worldview ( 👉 nearly every depiction of left wing ppl & leftwing ideas the show has had). sort of guy who says shit like "i dont mind the *good* ones, i just dont want it forced on me"
