How to Purchase The Right Bra
Let's face it, when it comes to wearing a bra, many of us aren’t wearing the right one for our bodies. It either bunches up in the back and sides, cuts into our skin, and/or the cups aren’t in proportion to our breast size. For such a small item of clothing, bras can be the hardest thing to buy! That's why Semper Divina wanted to share some bra fitting tips for making your next bra shopping adventure your best yet. While most of the information we provide below is universal - we always want to credit the source and in this case - we would like to thank the beautiful people at Bare Necessities for beating us to the punch.
You get an online notification of an amazing sale (your welcome) and want to stock up on bras. How do you know what size to buy (and we mean the correct size to purchase - not the size that is currently cutting off circulation). You can measure yourself! It is very easy to do alone (we would suggest a little help to get the most accurate measurement). All you need is measuring tape.
1. Bring the measuring tape around your back to the front, keeping it under the arms and bringing it up across to the middle of your chest. If you get an odd number, round up to the next even number to get your band size.
2. Measure across the bottom of your band, directly under the bust and across your ribcage. Make sure to keep your measuring tape straight around the back to front. If you get an odd number, round up to the next even number to get your band size.
1. Measure loosely around the fullest part of your bust, with the tape straight across and around your back, bringing it to the front.
2. Subtract your band measurement (from step 1) from this bust measurement. The difference calculates your bra size- each inch represents a cup size. For example, if you measure a 34 inch band size, and a 36 inch cup size, the difference is 2: which would indicate a B cup.
That's the hardest part! Now for the fun - selecting the perfect bra just right for you. They’re so many types of bras so it can be a little overwhelming when it comes to deciding which one you should chose. No worries - we have broken it down for you.
