I have a like/dislike relationship with philosophy because on the one hand I think it's important to challenge yourself on your own beliefs and consider right and wrong as subjective, contextual, and wrought to change EXCEPT I also think a lot of opinions are bullshit and that putting yourself into a box and deciding on only one path of thinking based on a random guy a few days to hundreds to thousands of years ago is also just dumb

Funny how many people online are complaining you can't kill animals in subnautica 2 while I'm sitting there having listened/read the recordings that the planet is in massive ecological peril and actively choosing to enjoy the worldbuilding despite being bit for 3hp now and again instead of killing without prejudice

Humans are unique among animals, in the sense that no other animal has conscious thoughts like humans do. However, every animal is unique in the nature of their thoughts. Deer don't have the same thoughts and feeling as humans do, but their unique mindscape is just as foreign and beyond comprehension to us as it would be to an orangutan. Who knows what wicked, wretched thoughts really go on within the tiny skull of a seagull.

One of the most fucked things I've learned about the article that linked vaccinations to autism was that it took 12 years to fully retract it.

It would've had to be reviewed, investigated, then proved wrong by other (actually ethical and credible) studies.

It been proven wrong. And yet. And yet people still believe it because of the spread of misinformation. I can't even fully disagree with the choice not to fully retract it either, because it just isn't scientific to deny an idea without proper evidence to prove it wrong, even if the idea is entirely bullshit. You can't retract every single article that conducts poor study or portrays a ludicrous idea just because.

And yeah it's frustrating as shit, but it's even more frustrating that people will woefully deny new and peer-reviewed evidence on the case that it disagrees with their worldview

With everything subnautica 2 went through, I'm so glad it released because so far the game is so good. The story is intriguing, the creature designs are impeccable. The map design is ok, but I'm hoping that'll improve through early-access development. I've only met 1 leviathan so far and it was so fucking terrifying. I have high hopes for the rest of its development.
