Thurant Castle, Germany 🇩🇪

Thurant Castle is a medieval castle located above the town of Alken on the Moselle River in Germany. It was built in the late 12th century, around 1197, by Count Palatine Henry after the Third Crusade. The castle later became jointly owned by two rival archbishops, which led to its division into two separate sections. Today, Thurant Castle is privately owned and partially open to visitors, offering insight into medieval fortress life and history.
