the house party was already in full swing by the time you arrived. music pulsed through the walls hard enough that you could feel the bass beneath your feet before you even stepped inside, while people drifted between the driveway and the front lawn with red cups in hand, talking over one another beneath strings of warm lights. the house itself sat high in the hills overlooking the city, all floor-to-ceiling windows and expensive furniture that belonged to parents who were conveniently away for the weekend.
karina took one look at you after you climbed out of the car and let out an unashamed scream.
"oh, you're evil."
you laughed, smoothing the front of your dress. "i'll take that as a compliment."
