I'm cool with him being half a step in the astral world, like, that's something that's been a pretty consistent plot point, but I don't need him to be totally like neogriffith. Was afraid of some kind of Guts has survived all that because he is a magical prince of the astral realm by birth right ass reveal. Really hoping this is not it. Him being just some angry guy was important to me. Humanity being saved by humans in the end and all that, you get.

It's like, I'm fine with the astral realm thing being an explanation for his constant misfortunes and even a subconscious reason he continues to contend, but I want his struggle to be a human thing, especially with how vehemently he rejects things like God and demons in the franchise-- Like that time that Mozgus tries to preach to him or Emperor Ganishka offers him power. Guts' development fits well into the story's themes but I don't want it to be a cop-out.

Yeah I agree, it is the whole point that Guts is human,it shows that a human with enough strenght and determination (with the help of magic too) can fight with inhuman forces

And we didn't really see his internal fight. Where's the fight with his demon and self progress
