Aww, you're so sweet 🥹 I'm so glad you liked the previous Skull Knight story. I love how he's this badass gentleman who I guess is on a redemption arc if he's really King Gaseric.
(This can be read as Mage! Reader from the previous fic, though I made Reader a bit giddy in this story. Also, I got inspired thinking back to the prequel with Guts and the flower fairy in the manga).
You would ask Skull Knight if he would like to visit the nearby flower field in Elfhelm. It is a quiet summer evening, and you figure the flower elves are playing amongst the petals. "Come now, Sir Knight. You need to be reminded about what you're protecting."
He's always admired your bold nature. In these trying times, one has to be tough. At the same time, you're also very gentle and easygoing. Though he doesn't have a "real" body, the Knight must admit he feels relaxed whenever he is around you.
The sun sets as you two head over to the field. There is a huge abundance of flowers of various colors and shapes. You giggle as you wave to a group of witches creating their own bouquets to take home. They wave back but gasp for a moment as they spot the Skull Knight behind you. Of course, it's very rare for him to make public appearances, but especially in a flower field of all places.
If Skull Knight still had his old body, he would probably flush a bit from embarrassment. You laugh and head over to a certain patch of purple flowers in the field. "I think they like to play around here," you murmur, and he looks around.
"What are you looking for?" he asks, baffled you can see anything in the dense ocean of petals.
"My elf friends," you happily reply. "I told them I would introduce you."
"You...You did?"
Laughing once more, you beam, "Why wouldn't I? You're very special to me."
"My dear, that's too kind." It's been too long since anyone has ever told him something sincere. When he was king, people felt forced to tell him praises; after all, his past self was indeed a shadow to what he's trying to be now. Skull Knight tries to focus on the present as you nearly screech in joy.
"Hey, everyone! I brought my friend, the Skull Knight. Come out and meet him!"
One by one, tiny elves fly out of the petals and hover over to the Knight.
"Whoa, he really is a pile of bones!"
"Look at those glowing eyes!"
"So he takes on monsters, huh?"
"Where's the horse you told us about?"
"Come now, you're not being polite," you pout at your friends. "You need to tell him your names first."
The elves blink and chuckle.
"I'm Bonnie!"
"Lorenzo!"
"Charlie!"
"Hi, I'm Opal!"
Now Skull Knight's silent. He then states, "I am indeed the Skull Knight."
Deciding to break the ice, you add, "I've been telling the elves all about your battles, Sir Knight. They've been very intrigued." Turing to the elves, "Sorry we didn't bring the horse today. I worried it would just eat the flowers and cause a mess."
"Ohhh," the elves all say in unison.
Then, Bonnie flies over to Skull Knight's face. "So, how many monsters do you think you've battled so far?"
"Now how's he supposed to know that, Bonnie?" you ask, crossing your arms.
"3,552," Skull Knight answers matter-of-factly.
The crowd of elves are in awe. They then bombard him with questions.
"What was the most difficult monster?"
"My sworn enemies. I have yet to defeat them, but someday..."
"Do you like candy?"
"I have never been too fond of sweets, actually..."
"Do you like cats?"
"They're unique creatures, I suppose."
"I love cats."
"That's nice, young elf."
You smile at the sight, watching him answer more questions. Finally, Skull Knight can take the time to enjoy the world as it should be. To remind him of why he's fighting so hard for a brighter tomorrow.

Hey! I really like this request 😊 I instantly picture an Elfhelm setting.
(I'm kind of basing Skull Knight on some of the theories about him, like he was possibly revived by Schierke's teacher and he may be King Gaseric).
It's laughable how he's done more good being dead than he ever did in life. Thanks to the witch's magic, he's able to slay the demons that roam in the shadows. There is a deep regret he was unable to do this as a living ruler, but Fate has bestowed him a second chance to protect a kingdom. The kingdom of his late beloved, in fact.
Most people in Elfhelm are aware of his existence as the Skull Knight, but only a few have met him in person. You are one such resident.
It was during a skirmish outside Elfhelm when you first meet the Knight. He believes he had the upper hand, yet he notices more and more demons approaching. As a demon huntress yourself, you step in and quickly chant a spell. Soon the demons are frozen in place.
"Now's your chance to pierce their hearts," you tell the Knight. "Once that's slashed, they can't regenerate anymore."
Skull Knight follows your command and fells the foes. Looking at you from horseback, he notices you smile briefly. "You must be the Undead Knight everyone's talking about," you giggle. "I'm Y/N, Witch of Moonlight."
"'Tis a pleasure to battle alongside you, Fair Maiden," the Knight replies. He's actually being quite sincere; your eyes dazzle under the bright light of the moon, and you look splendid in your glittering magic robes.
"I trust you and I will continue to work together to protect Elfhelm," you ask, getting back to business. "I fear there's evil brewing. You realize there's to be another Eclipse in the next two centuries? If we can decrease our enemy's numbers, before then, there's a good chance we'll vanquish the Wicked Ones."
Skull Knight nods and follows you back to the Elven Kingdom, You bid him a good night, and while he is unable to sleep in this form, his thoughts are practically dreams of your beauty and skill. If he still has a form of a heart, it begins to yearn for love once more.
He ends up finding you later that week as you meditate underneath an old oak tree. Your powers are increasing as the moon ascends in the starry sky. A small smile paints your face as you sense your new companion approach.
"Fair Maiden, I would like to present you a bottle of invigorating elixir," he declares as he hands you a small box. "One sip shall increase your powers tenfold for a day's worth. I give it as thanks for your aid in the last battle. I sense stronger foes approaching their way, and I want to entrust your safety."
You gasp as you open the box and study the bottle. "Sir Knight, tis much too generous. Please, allow me to share some of this with you."
He waves his hand and replies, "No, I'm afraid with this new body, I am unable to consume anything. The bottle is for you, so please use it to your heart's content."
Standing up, you give a curtsey to the knight. "Thank you. Now, let us head off to patrol."
He insists on taking the lead, explaining that if any enemies were to ambush the two of you, he shall take the brunt of it. You ignore such a statement, however, telling him that you and he are now a team. "We will face any battles together."
Your bravery is truly admirable, he thinks. Such a warrior's spirit has always been rare to come by. As he watches you prepare your witch's staff, he can't help but think you are one of the most precious things he has ever come across. He vows never to lose something so valuable as a gentle soul again.
Little do you realize you're the inspiration he needs to give it his all in slaying the God Hand.

No warnings except Griffith 🥀 - Pre-Eclipse Only for Him
Guts (Pre-Eclipse) - Blinks, completely taken aback by what you just said. You sincerely meant it, thanking him for saving you during a tremendously difficult battle. You always have admired his strength and loyalty. He stares, Guts' Theme starts playing, and mumbles, "Well, of course. We're comrades, aren't we?" You swear you see him blush.
Casca (Pre-Eclipse) - She gasps, flustered by your words. You told her this after listening to her unintentionally funny stories regarding training her squad. Truth be told, Casca really likes you, too. She just has never told anyone something like this. The warrior avoids your gaze, murmuring, "Um, I...I like you, too." You giggle, thrilled to know you feel the same about each other.
Griffith (Pre-Eclipse) - The leader immediately smiles. you blurted out your words as you and he discussed castle happenings. You always appreciated his criticism of the affairs. Embarrassed, you try to think of what to say next. However, Griffith chuckles, "I like you, too." Deep down, he's screaming internally, happy the feeling's mutual. Now he has to rethink his way to the throne - he wants to marry you, not the royal family.
Serpico - (Post-Eclipse AU) - "Why, I like you, as well," the young man replies matter-of-factly. You revealed your feelings to Serpico as you two prepared a campfire; you are grateful he puts in the effort to look out for everyone. The blond smiles, gathering the cooking materials. "So, what would you like for dinner? I have to let my admirer get the honor to choose, after all." You laugh nervously, excited that he wants to be more than just friends.
*Bonus* Skull Knight (Elfhelm AU) - He is shocked. You, a companion of Guts', have told the magical being you liked him as you were impressed by his prowess and skill. The knight has not heard such words in centuries. He doesn't know how to respond, but he swears he feels some sort of warmth. You chuckle, happy to know only you can fluster the formidable knight.
