So I found this bug on the wall just outside my house today and I've never seen anything like it before, so I thought I'd bring it to tumblr to see if anyone could help me identify it please?

(Edit right before posting this: I think it might be a garden tiger moth? I'm still not entirely sure though.)

Edit 2: got a better picture when it went on my hand. (My mother was not impressed that I walked into the house with it in order to grab my phone)

I am worried because it didn't move much and didn't seem to want to fly but I got it onto a tree branch outside the house and it was moving around more by then (did not want to leave my hand)
