I saw a post a while back (can’t recall where) that said something like “you should hate your old works” when it comes to art and writing, which confused me then and still does now. Because when I look at stuff I created in the past, either last month or 15 years ago, I don’t hate it. I see how good it was then and how I was so hard on myself for no reason. I see that I’ve improved and that there’s always room for improvement, however slow it may be.

I might not like everything I made when I first started out, and I might not like something I made recently. But I made it at a time where that’s exactly what I wanted to make. Being able to look back on it for references and inspiration is nice, too.
