sanguerosas:
He had exepected to see a scene like this when he had opted to travel by train in the wee hours of the night — the last train for the night. But then it’s not Lancelot had any choice with this matter. Arthur in all his damnable eccentricities , stowed away to some rural town that Lancelot couldn’t recall the name of. And of course being the Sanguerosa’s sworn right hand man and bodyguard he had to follow and make sure that the younger hand not gotten himself into trouble. But lo and behold , the moment he stepped foot at Arthur’s supposed whereabouts, a call from Sanguerosa informed him that the heir was not there afterall. Lancelot had to take a deep breath and count down from ten to one.
Letting out a resigned sigh, the mafioso walked into the nearly desserted train , a bag slung over his shoulder his train ticket on another hand. At least he would be able to travel back home in peace. While he was still pissed with his brother , the relief that he felt knowing that the latter was safe and within the famiglia’s reach was stronger. But that won’t stop him from hitting Arthur on the head when they see each other again.
Walking into the cabin where his seat was , Lancelot idly noticed the lack of other passengers. Again , he didn’t mind — it was expected after all , but the paranoid part of his screamed at his head to be cautious like a deranged banshee. He shook his head from the thoughts and slid his cabin door effortlessly. Dark hues widened for a fraction at the unexpected presence inside. Looks like he wasn’t the only occupant of the cabin after all.
He didn’t say anything and just promptly entered. His tall frame loomed over the woman’s seated form before he sat himself on the other vacant seat. He didn’t say anything to answer her question , instead he leans back with a soft sigh his eyes fluttering close. A brief moment passed before Lancelot opened his eyes once again and leveled the woman a passive yet steely look.
❝ I prefer it since I paid for it. But it looks like you’re comfortable there. ❞
One thing she did dread was an awkward interaction and if she could help it, she would try her best to stray away from it. Whether it was ignoring it completely or trying to mend the situation herself. At least this would begin as some sort of icebreaker for the rest of their trip. So with arms stretched out in front of her, the woman sinks into her seat. Taking note of what seemed like annoyance of the stranger, the succubus glances up for a second before parting her lips to speak. “So you don’t mind.” She confirms out loud more for herself than anything else.
Running her fingers through her hair, she tucks a few strands away from her face as her head turns to look at him. Her digits still linger around her ear, pondering for a moment on how to address the situation. “Sorry though,” Tai begins before tucking her hands into her lap. “I really didn’t think anyone else would be boarding the train so late at night. I guess I was wrong.” The woman shrugged before completely turning to face him. “Where you coming from so late by the way?” Not that she really cared, but if they were going to be stuck in the same cart for god knows how long, she might as well spark up some conversation. Maybe it was business, or something more sinister. Hours like this were such a ripe time to find stuff like this out, and since only the two them existed at that moment, what did they really have to lose? The likeliness of them seeing each other again: nonexistent. Afterall, Korea was such a large country that meeting again was 1 out of 52 million. She wasn’t worried.
Hell, even if she did have something to worry about she found herself more likely to deal with a situation than to run from it. She’d learned that there was nothing to fear when you didn’t see things as threats. Tai had learned not to care about consequences and let instinct take over. It was a rarity, and she didn’t see anything going sour, but it always sat in the back of her head as an easy exit. “I’m Tai by the way.”
