the key point here is that a hazing ritual involving fucking a dead pig head on camera is sufficiently plausible as part of the weird esoteric power-grooming world of the rich political classes that when it was suggested that Dave fucked a pig nobody was like 'what a wild unrealistic accusation clearly motivated by spite'. Instead people of David Cameron's age and social background were coming out of the woodwork to say "WHO AMONG US did not fuck a few pigs? LET HE WHOSE PIG REMAINED UNFUCKED CAST THE FIRST STONE"
like for real if you were around for this you may remember that the vibe was very much rich people saying "oh we've all done comparable student shenanigans haven't we?" and everyone else saying "...no? What? I got a bit drunk once and threw up in a stairwell at uni I didn't do ritualistic necrobestiality????"
like the piggate takeaway should not have been "David Cameron is a pervert who Definitely Fucks Pigs" the takeaway should be "Britain is ruled by an entire class of people involved from childhood in such ritualistic and deliberately weird structures of backhanders, exclusive clubs and literal blackmail rituals that the idea that you'd publicly fuck a pig head for a chance at social power within the ruling class is not only plausible but entirely relateable to powerful people on both sides of the aisle"
