The Deep.
(Coloured pencils and fine liner. For this A4 sketchbook piece I used two sets of coloured pencils to collate a cogent palette of causal tones. The aim was to merge this notion of underwater sea life with that of abstracted shaping and vibrancy, depicting pin-pricks of light emitting a glow that lights up the sea, and juxtaposes the silhouettes of the surrounding creatures. In theory this piece would be presented as a two-page spread in an illustrated children’s book, the busy-ness reflecting the flourishing, intermingled sea-life.)
I hope to eventually buy a scanner to make some better copies of my pieces, but for now we'll have to settle for sub-par photographs.
(Day 93) _13/4/26_ Fruition.
(Day 52) _13/3/26_ Leamington spa.
(Might be my favourite tile design so far)
Lilies!
(process under the cut)
Various sketches from late December/early January. You can likely tell which were drawn while my fingers were numbing from the cold!
My tapestry illustration is at last complete! *maniacal laughter* This one took a long while, and I'm very pleased with it's final form. I thoroughly enjoyed designing each pattern!
Monk's cress/ Nasturtium sketchbook study (A5). This was very fun (if time-consuming) to draw. These plants always capture my attention, both for the vibrant flowers and leaves they possess that form an encompassing blanket, and the way they wrap and weave themselves into and out of objects.
The garden plays with colour + a quilt design emanates from the noble square.
A warm Sunday :)

(Day 7) _17/1/26_ Enjoyed working on this one today. Reminds me of a knitwear pattern in retrospect, must be the diamonds.
Tapestry of patterns.
Ooo guys the punctuation is personifying itself..!
Scruffy bandstand study.
Loved the design, it was originally made in 1903 by the Lion Foundry Company of Kirkintilloch.
Nocturnal and diurnal: in cat form. :)
