Rocky getting one of those tattoo markings on his body when Grace passes away as a way to remember him. All of Adrian and Rocky's children having a similar marking because he was so pivotal to Rocky that he needed some way for his generations of children to remember the man from the Sol, from Earth who helped saved their Sun and their lives.

There's something so beautiful about the aroace community claiming Ryland Grace, it's so rare to find representation for aroace people who are as raw and real and human as Grace is, and I love it more than I can say, he isn't treated like he's broken or inhuman because of his lack of romantic/sexual relationships, and the way he gets fulfillment from life, through his teaching and his friendships (Stratt and Rocky and Dimitri in the book) is amazing! It's an incredible depiction of how a person can live a happy, fulfilled life even if they aren't technically reaching the "benchmarks of success", and the way Grace is treated is also very indicative of the aroace experience, Stratt fundamentally misunderstands that Grace loves the life he has on Earth, he loves teaching and working in molecular biology and pursuing knowledge to try and prove his ideas about the development of life, and Stratt (in the movie specifically) says that a part of her reasoning for sending Grace is because of his perceived lack of connections to people on Earth, she says she's sacrificing him because there's no one he'll leave behind, as if that's the only measure of value a human life has, she obviously cared about him as her friend, but she has a fundamental lack of understanding about how rich his life is to him, which I think a lot of aroace people can relate to
