occasionally, usually on youtube, i see videos and ads pop up that aren't in my native language (which is english). like usually i get spanish ads (which made it funny once when i got an ICE ad in spanish, like girl pick a lane??), i saw a few vids in french pop up, the works. still never recovering from the time i had to sit thru an ad in korean though. my love for k-dramas was just too strong i guess.

sometimes it's okay to find yourself indecisive. time has always been constant in its march towards the inevitable. eventually, you will be able to do everything you want to do. what you need, is the stubbornness to keep things in mind.

ARGUABLY i fully agree with you. if nico had any contact with anyone in the mortal world after he was outed he would very desperately want to be back in the closet.

as healthily as i can say this, DO NOT DEFINE NICO DI ANGELO BY HIS GAY IDENTITY. he is a character outside of his love for masculine persons!!!!

at least in my opinion (and, as an opinion, this is always up for debate and healthy concrit by someone who only loves men/masculine persons and is male-presenting, which is NOT me), had nico been able to find someone of ANY gender who could support him in the way he needs, he would've formed a connection, platonic or romantic.

as a character, nico is not something solid that can be unchangeable. for example, for fun, i've toyed with the idea of him being a natural blond/blondish brunette (since lighter coloured hair is there in italy, and it would be funny). i've toyed with the idea of him presenting femininely.

genuinely nothing can stop you from making your own decisions, but what matters is that you acknowledge that you are deviating from the established canon. if anyone gives you shit, then they didn't care to read more than a few sentences and realise you're not sticking to the canonical material. YOU, AS A WRITER AND ARTIST, ARE FREE TO MESS AROUND WITH CANON.

but going back to the topic, i'm being so fucking serious (lives in america). if he had any contact with modern-day folk both lgbtqia+ and non-queer, he would want to get back in that damn closet. there are bigots in the community and outside of the community.

maybe it's just me but i've always had like... a pettiness when it comes to yanderes, especially in fanfiction. especially regarding isolation tactics. maybe it's just me and what i've been through, but something i live for is the emotion-guided(?) yanderes. yanderes who genuinely have love for their darlings (regardless of how that may manifest), who see them as a person in a way rather than just an object.

there's a difference between seeing someone as a possession and breaking them, and seeing someone as a person and breaking them. there's a specific set of cruelty in the lucidity of it.

but what i, as a reader, like to see is when the yandere genuinely loves their darling. not necessarily in a way that can be easily visible, but in a way that, at minimum, the reader can look at it and know they love the darling. even if it's not showing in the way the common understanding of love is.

what i, as a reader, love to see is a darling that actively understands, to some extent, their yandere. it makes it more intricate; the ability to look at your tormentor and understand that while they are a bad person for what they did to you (i mentioned isolation tactics in the first paragraph, so if you didn't guess thus far, this is about a darling kidnapped and isolated), but they are doing it out of an emotion they interpret as love.

there is a certain sadness to be found, to look at someone who made your life hell, and to know that they are not evil nor malicious, not in entirety.

what i want to see (maybe not write, i'm currently working on something of my own making) is a darling who is able to understand that the yandere loves them, but after everything, they cannot love the yandere back.

so when a yandere says "i love you," just nod.

placating them is better than angering them.

(even if the yandere can tell it's not reciprocated.)
