So here’s a masterlist to 3rd shift walmart lifting.
This information will pertain to my store specifically so take it with a grain of salt please guys.
Your store must be 24 hours for any of this to even matter obviously
Ap is not there all night. The latest mine have EVER stayed was 4 am.
Regular registers close around midnight, from then until 7am it is ONLY self check and only one cashier to man the (at my store) 10 self checkouts we keep open.
If you want something from electronics that is LOCKED UP the electronics associate (usually wearing a yellow vest) will walk it up fromt for you. Now to get the item you want without paying heres a method for you; have a partner who is 21 go to the farthest checkout from the paystation (register) with alcohol. The attendant will HAVE to go over to verify their age. During this time you walk by the pay station and grab the item off the desk. Depending on the size of the item conceal as you walk or just get the fuck out once the attendant is headed back to the podium. If you beep dont stop. Keep fucking going. Don’t hesitate. And for the love of god dont come back. The attendant WILL notice the product missing and have to report it so make sure you have on a wig, glasses, fake beauty marks, fake moles, pimples, contour and highlight like crazy because cameras WILL be looked at.
At my store we dont cs you to death if were sus but the assistant manager, customer service manager, and potentially a cashier will be very nearby and keep a close eye on you.
We dont have a secret code or anything for ap but heres the exACT announcement that will go off. “Security scan all areas at this time, AP 1 and 2 walk the floor at this time, officer *name* to the front at this time.”
The cameras at self checkout are NOT recording. They are simply there as a deterrent, but look at the scanner, see the camera button? Yeah that only takes your picture if it’s pressed. It makes a shutter sound and the scanner lights go off for a few seconds.
If a cashier is sus you are bagging multiple items while ringing up one at a time they can (and usually will) suspend your transaction from the monitor next to the register. They will come over and get the suspended transaction reciept and make up some bs excuse about “these things never wanna work right I’m sorry I can ring you back up at the front if you’d like” if this happens its best to just give up. Act frustrated, dont blame the cashier, just say youve been in there for hours and really want to just get home and leave. Try again another day.
Walkouts are actually not impossible at night. Believe me I’ve had a customer do one before. Just dont stop.
The csm usually is at lunch between 2 and 3 am, during this time the cashier WILL have a walkie and can get in touch with the manager instantly. Walk by the pay station. Is there a walkie? Don’t attempt anything stupid unless you can get the fuck out of the parking lot fast.
Most assistant managers will not stop you unless they see you conceal and manage all 6 ap steps. They do not want to make a bad stop because they will be fired if they do.
I know it may seem like a good idea to fill a reusable bag but that is a huge red flag for us. If a customer is putting shit in a reusable bag they will be followed and watched.
If you want to be really careful, hold two items together and scan one. Bag both. Then you can return the doubles for your money back, switch tags with similar but cheaper items. Ex. The velveeta cheese. Take the lid off, replace it with the great value brand lid and then u get name brand for the generic price.
My store has a shit camera layout. 90% of the cameras are in grocery. Pets has none, hba has ones hanging off the shelves, same with toys. Cosmetics has the ones dangling from the ceiling that show you whats being recorded. We have some aisles with one and some with two. Stand under a camera on an aisle with only one and bingo, a blind spot.
This is the only time you can steal cigarettes. Just make sure no one is nearby, grab what you want, and leave.
The towers at my store go off for no reason. Literally none. No one will be near them and then “DING DONG” so I just wave people that beep through. We have stockers on every aisle in grocery, one or two in housewares, toys is covered by the electronics employee, sporting goods and hardware is done by one person, hba has one, pharmacy has one, no one touches pets until 5 am, garden center is void od anyone, shoes and infants are done by one person, clearance is empty.
If ap are present usually they say hey to most employees, they’ll stand at self checkout talking to the cashier there. Etc. They will follow you and keep constant surveillance by peekinf around aisles and displays. They will always call the cops too.
No one but ap and managers can call cops.
This is basically everything you need to know. Any questions feel free to pop into my askbox or inbox!!! I hope this is helpful!!! Hugs and kisses,
