"Don't you dare suggest that I didn't love her like you did," I interrupted, tears streaming down my own face. And we just stood there for a while, angry with each other, but still Rhyelia's memory hanging over us like a guillotine. "And I don't want to lose you too because you murdered someone in an act of revenge."
Jahara remained silent, bringing her hand past the bars of her cell, reaching for mine and squeezing it gently. She was trembling.
"Do you blame me, though?" That, I didn't have an answer for. "He didn't deserve to live after what he did to her." I reached my own hand past the bars, cupping her face gently before pulling her into a gentle kiss.
"We're getting you out of here. I swear to it we are getting you out of here."
"Heh, don't take too long, okay? I've a fear of getting beheaded."
