Hello, I am an adult yellow throated marten and wolfdog. This is my blog where I get to be fully nonhuman since I can’t entirely be anywhere else. I do not refer to myself as human here and ask you to do the same
Names: My radio collar ID is MF412-M, but you may know me as Cowboy or Moth. Either of these work
Identity outside of species: Agender transmasc thats medically transitioned. It/he/thing. My sexuality is not really relevant but I am pomosexual and aceflux. Do not flirt with me or sexualize me, I have a mate/owner
Alterhumanity: I have stated my main identity but I do have other kins. The link to a post with a list of all of them is here
Other things:
I practice paganism, if that is the term that would fit as I’ve never been fully sure. I primarily work with the Celtic god of the wild Cernunnos. My practice does not come up here often but it does play some parts in my identity
I’m heavily into entomology, zoology as a whole, taxidermy, plushies, paleontology, astronomy and art
I am disabled in several ways
I currently work from home as a artist, but plan on doing volunteer work and eventually working with other animals
I do wildlife photography as a hobby, particularly bird photography

I don’t have a lot of stuff I feel the need to state, but I will say radqueer DNI. Radinclus is welcome. Do not try to claim transspecies is radqueer, you will be blocked

You can eat fruit salads as a tiger - it's tiger food. You can eat vanilla cupcakes as a wolf - it's wolf food. I can eat fried chicken as a hare - it's hare food.
I hate when people downplay animal death so fucking much.

this is one of the reasons im so misanthropic. you're telling me you have NO respect for the dead? at all? I get that accidents happen but when I see people making fun of anything dead I get pissed the fuck off.

you're not better than a frog or a bird, you're the same if not worse. we are ALL animals. I hate that some humans think they are better than the creatures around them.
nature is a connecting and driving force that is not to be underestimated or assulted, its beauty is to be appreciated.
human impatience not being able to stop for two seconds to let an animal cross the road is baffling. the same with human INCOMPETENCE not understanding the simple rules of being respectful of the dead.
*EDIT: I'm aware its not ALL humans, I know many humans who have the upmost respect for the dead and appreciate them a LOT! This just tends to happen more in humans than any other creature.. ive never met another animal that disrespects the dead, personally.
This post was kind of just a vent on two of my friends who do not have respect for the life around them, and are careless about other creatures because they believe humans are the "superior" species and believe that every other creature is below them. This is NOT meant to be an attack on humans, but I am a misanthrope and it can be hard for me to word everything nicely due to that.
Hmm, honestly kinda a weird answer but probably with my mate (at least for my canine identity) they encourage it and I see them almost as my “owner” and I put their info on my collars and everything, so I mean I kinda associate that with them often
Unfortunately I don’t have anything that stands out for marten, moments that could stand out is when I'm out birding or camping but nothing near me really replicates the Himalayas very well unlike how one to one I can get with being a Wolfdog with an owner lol
For other smaller kins I talk about less they also depend, some are very obvious though like rock pigeon tends to come out when up high especially in cities, my winter kin can feel stronger when it’s well..winter, my mothman kin feels stronger when out at night, etc etc
The affects of living longer then I should be for my species (a vent/rant)
Normally I do not get this personal, I know occasionally I’ll mention the dog that raised me and occasionally ramble about things but this is something I have seen absolutely no one mention before. I wanted to make a post on it to see if I’m not alone and hopefully help others who may have similar struggles not be alone
CW: talking about being suicidal and having suicidal ideation, mentions of animal death, and mentions of self harm/harmful behaviors
I do wanna note I have thankfully mostly recovered and have not had a real suicidal thought in around a year and a half or so, but these are still my experiences even if they are in the past so I wanted to share them
I have been suicidal for longer then I have not been so in my life, obviously due to outside reason from being nonhuman. But during those years there was a familiar thought pattern no matter if I knew I was nonhuman at the time or not.
“I do not want to live past 18” or whatever age I had in my head at the time. This originally started with me not wanting to grow up, but moved into my dysphoria as I got older, but thinking back I think it was always at least partly about being that old feeling unnatural
It can give me extreme dysphoria to dwell on the fact I am at such an unnatural age for my species. I can remember one distinct spiral I had, being one of my last heavily suicide based ones, where I was so painfully uncomfortable with my age it was almost unbearable. I think it got to the point of some form of self harm but I can not remember
Obviously I don’t think my species dysphoria was a direct cause for those thoughts and break downs but it could heavily amplify it. I do also even now feel a quick bout of anxiety when I think about it
It also got pretty severe when the other animals I grew up with all started passing away, especially the dog that raised me. Kind of a survivors guilt thing. I was technically older then her, she taught me how to be a dog, and I watched her die knowing I have decades longer to be around despite me seeing myself as the same species
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen another being talk about this. I wish when it was such a stressful thing for me there was another being telling me I was not alone, so I am going to be that for others
For those with a similar experience to mine, know you are not the only one. Know I understand the stress and dysphoria it can cause. It may never fully go away, but you will learn to get past it and live with it. It will quiet itself and you’ll be able to live your life even if you are absolutely ancient for your species. And know even despite your age you are still your species
I do understand this is kinda a touchy subject but we have to remember species dysphoria and other related things can easily affect you badly if you are already in a bad mental state, which is obviously where I was at the time. Being rude about my or others experiences and telling folks to “get help” because they are mentally unstable at that moment does nothing but push someone farther away from seeking help. So if you do not like this topic please do not be like that and just move on

Some of my favorite birds I’ve managed to spot in the wild and not in an aviary or similar things is a red bellied woodpecker and a blue Herron. But in my very definitely not biased opinion as a rock pigeon kin I would say my favorite birds are pigeons/doves. My favorite from that family would probably be an orange dove literately just because they have no business being so orange and I find it very funny (my favorite color is also orange) I am a big fan of Corvids and vultures as well though!

I really wasn’t expecting it to turn out this well, the entire time I was doubtful till I put it on when it was painted
Sadly the vision is still not perfect but you know I tried, it feels slightly better then my old one though. And either way my old one had a broken ear and was built on a paper base, it needed to be remade
Old one on the left and new one on the right. New one is definitely more bulky but it has a better shape at every angle. It’s also better colored with a more accurate paint job along with more accurate ears. All the fabrics are sewn together instead of leaving the backing visible and the teeth are in more accurate places and accurate shapes (there wasn’t even enough on the old one)
I’ll probably have to adjust myself to this new one but I’m definitely a lot happier with it. I didn’t even really notice the amount of flaws in my old one till I got this one done
Are radio collar IDs really becoming a trend? I’ve seen upwards of maybe ten to fifteen at most beings post about having one but have seen a few mentions of it becoming a “trend”, I haven’t seen it so I’m confused lol. To my knowledge it’s contained to a few orcas and wolves, and I guess me but I’m kinda a outlier (Tbf I forget to read through replies and notes often on posts, so maybe I am quite literally just missing it)
To note I don’t particularly care if it’s a trend I’m just curious, if it is becoming popular to play around with these I’m glad folks are able to find new ways to explore their identity, I know I’m glad I was introduced to the concept at least
Also entirely unrelated my mask is almost pretty much done it’s just drying and I have to add some small details
Probably last update before I finish it cuz I’m kinda fixating on finishing it now
This is actually the first time any of my masks have had sewing, so I’m hoping it really adds to it
I am happy with the shape, I am worried it’s looking a bit to cartoony but I’m sure once I get the rest of the fur down it will look better especially once I paint it
I might still make some edits to get the shape exactly right, but so far I think it looks good! Im kinda iffy on the eyes, but they should look better once the fur is added. At least I can see lol
speaking of fur, unfortunately I’m gonna have to do a lot more then I thought. Don’t have enough short white fur for the entire thing, but I have enough light grey I can paint the dark parts on, that means I’m gonna have to either be very careful when gluing in the separate fur colors or sew it. Unsure what I’m gonna do yet but I might just have to sew
I’ve made gums somewhat as well to put the teeth in, I’ll be covering it in a minky fabric that I’m gonna paint the right color then glue down the teeth

Part of what makes identifying as a non-human creature so wonderful is the diversity of experiences that others bring into the community.
Being a cat doesn’t look the same for every cat, for example. It’s easy to get swept up in trending songs that a popular cat therian is doing, but you aren’t required to participate as a cat yourself. Some cats don’t like fish, some cats work grueling full-time jobs, some cats identify as a cat and leave it as that.
The most powerful someone can be is at their most authentic self, and social media is a harsh landscape for being authentic. Success in numbers is a give and take - to be widely liked is to be a figure that can do no wrong, that can make everyone smile.
So don’t become taxidermy! Become alive, frothing at the mouth, let your fur be matted, let your eyes shine. Become imperfect, for the land only asks of you to live.
