fantasizing about being k*ssed and knowing in theory I could go out and k*ss a random person but would ultimately feel unfulfilled because what I really desire is emotional intimacy and stability
Paris Is Burning (Jennie Livingston, 1990)
One of the many things I love about Grizz is that he fully knew he was gay for a long time but made the decision to not share that with any of his high school friends because he had all intentions of leaving them behind when he went away to college. Gareth Visser was going to reinvent himself but was still always so sure of who he was and never let anyone take away his love for literature, football championships, and pure kindness. He really is a fuck you to stereotypes but at the same time embraces his own cliches and in this essay I will explain how he is my favorite person ever.
I love Grizz and if he doesn’t beat up Campbell next season for Sam and Elle I’m going to do it myself words cannot physically express how much I love grizz
I learned in a Latin Studies class (with a chill white dude professor) that when the Europeans first saw Aztec cities they were stunned by the grid. The Aztecs had city planning and that there was no rational lay out to European cities at the time. No organization.
When the Spanish first arrived in Tenochtitlan (now downtown mexico city) they thought they were dreaming. They had arrived from incredibly unsanitary medieval Europe to a city five times the size of that century’s london with a working sewage system, artificial “floating gardens” (chinampas), a grid system, and aqueducts providing fresh water. Which wasn’t even for drinking! Water from the aqueducts was used for washing and bathing- they preferred using nearby mountain springs for drinking. Hygiene was a huge part if their culture, most people bathed twice a day while the king bathed at least four times a day. Located on an island in the middle of a lake, they used advanced causeways to allow access to the mainland that could be cut off to let canoes through or to defend the city. The Spanish saw their buildings and towers and thought they were rising out of the water. The city was one of the most advanced societies at the time.
Anyone who thinks that Native Americans were the savages instead of the filthy, disease ridden colonizers who appeared on their land is a damn fool.
They’ve also recently discovered a lost Native American city in Kansas called Etzanoa It rivals the size of Cahokia, which was very large as well.
here are some reconstructions of Tenochtitlan
cops invited to school get fucking owned

straight men trying to make Serious war dramas and accidentally making incredibly tender homoerotic cinema is the funniest thing
In his essay, “Masculinity as Spectacle,” Steve Neale seeks to extend Laura Mulvey’s work on the male gaze and to challenge her assertion that the male or male-identified spectator can never look upon the male body as an erotic object. To challenge Mulvey’s assertion, Neale identifies the mechanisms mainstream Hollywood cinema uses to represent the male body as erotic. One way of doing this, Neale argues, is by making the male body the target of violence. In the war film, a soldier can hold his buddy – as long as his buddy is dying on the battlefield. In the western, Butch Cassidy can wash the Sundance Kid’s naked flesh – as long as it is wounded. In the boxing film, a trainer can rub the well-developed torso and sinewy back of his protege – as long as it is bruised. In the crime film, a mob lieutenant can embrace his boss like a lover – as long as he is riddled with bullets. Violence makes the homoeroticism of many “male” genres invisible; it is a structural mechanism of plausible deniability.

Symbols in Renaissance Art: Doves
Throughout the centuries doves have appeared as symbols in numerous religious and secular settings but may be best known for its wide use in Christianity. Renaissance artists utilized doves primarily in religious artwork to depict the third element of the trinity, the Holy Spirit. Shown above the figures in the painting, wings spread and often in a burst of light gives the dove an ethereal appearance, indicating its religious significance.
i can’t believe that photo of hemsworth hiddleston and taika waititi all taking a nap together that’s so cursed and blessed at the same time
i’m the fact that the person taking the photo had to use a panoramic shot to get all of tom in the photo
the FACT that mark ruffalo is the one who took this and then posted it on facebooks like the nerdy dad he is
I just noticed Taika Waititi is snuggling Chris Hemsworth’s legs. This is the most precious image in existence.
This is what non-toxic masculinity looks like.
This is the world warriormale wants, and I’m A-OK with that. Fight when needed, but never fear the embrace of your brother.
@warriormale A blessed picture
It’s good to see Men touching each other, without discomfort.
Fighters train and fight all the time. We are very comfortable with physical contact because we constantly fight each other.
Good to see others feeling comfortable as well.
Train and fight!

europeans really got stop pretending racism doesn’t exist in europe when their governments are shifting further and further right at the prospect of people trying to escape the chaos they created, as refugees.
just because american racism is largely but not exclusively targeted against black people doesn’t mean you’re less racist because your racism’s current preoccupation is with how many mosques are located in your borders
also like. the gag is theyre often just as racist towards black people because their racists borrow american racism all the time! it’s all the same!
a rollercoaster from start to finish
Monet went home looking stunning for eureka to stay and serve the same fucking looks every week. I’m sick and tired.
