     his eyes have been trained on his datapad for the past half an hour while he’s been listening to the asari’s new findings on remnant tech with the pathfinder .  her voice is so  ENERGETIC  that’s it’s easy to pay attention as his fingers drift across the keypad .  however  ,  it’s also easy to tell when that energy is dying off .  last couple of minutes  ,  she’s drifted off mid-sentence                  caught herself off-guard with something close to a yawn .  he’s debating letting her discover her own exhaustion  ,  or speaking up to tell her that she should find herself a bed .  neither of those things happen of course .

the added weight to his shoulder makes his fingers still and his brows lift as he glances over to find peebee dozing against his shoulder .   it should have been expected  ,  given the lack of tired exclamations about her newest project .  reyes’ keeps his gaze pointed at her for a moment  ,  counting the seconds to see if she’ll rouse herself from slumber  ,  but she doesn’t stir .  her body only shifts  ,  adjusting to the presumably uncomfortable position of her neck .  it’s warm where her head idly rests .  it should cause him to pull away because of the heat already present in the air  (  kadara  ,  the dreadful desert land                 but at least better than elaadan  ,  right  ?  )  but he remains  ,  remotely unbothered by the subtle physicality .  she looks content  ,  anyhow .  however the contentment  ,   when he shifts he hears her stir and quickly he returns his eyes towards his datapad .  “   you’ve talked yourself to sleep .  that’s the first time i’ve seen that before .   ”
