Now with Shy Guy (Shysette…) art by imdrunkoftea
I've always loved Shy Guy - place in my heart because of my name - and they were always oddly cute. Love this concept that it's a gorgeous woman behind the masks :p

5th post: 03/11/21 Thursday | Hope everyone is enjoying yet another beautiful spring day. Today, I wanted to tell you about this quirky TP company: @whogivesacraptp. They make 100%, strong, soft, 3-ply bamboo TP. 🎋 Bamboo, because it is so much more sustainable than your traditional tree-made papers. Not only is it one of the fastest growing plants in the world, (It grows more like a grass, than a tree.) but it also grows in wide varieties, able to grow in many climates and conditions. Some types of bamboo can grow up to 3 ft in just 24 hrs! Whereas; trees in comparison, even the fastest growing, can take 10 years to get to 25 ft. This company is choosing the better, more sustainable way. Choosing a material that can be grown more, grown quicker, grown in less space, and with less damage than the ways we've been doing it. And after buying myself the biggest box (52 Premium Rolls for around $56) I'm so thankful that they were actually soft. Because I am set for a couple months, and I would just detest getting stuck with tough paper (even if it is good for the environment) for even just a week. 😂😅 I'm also so thankful that there is yet another tangible way for me to make an environmental difference in the world. Amazing what choice can do. 4th post: 03/09/21 Tuesday | Today I tried tofu for the first time! It was surprisingly bland actually, 😅 but with all the other deliciousness; the pho, the veggies, the spices. 👌🏼😚💋. C'est magnifique. Tofu has a good consistency too, chewy enough to feel like meat, but not too chewy that it feels like fat. As somone with food allergies, I thought I might've had an issue with tofu because it's made from soy, but thankfully I encountered no problems. 😁 I also tried Boba for first time today, as well! This was another dish that I feel has more strength in texture, than in taste. But it too mixed quite deliciously with the mango and honey that it was paired with. If you're interested in creating this vegetarian meal yourself, here are the supplies you will need. 🌏 Pho Chay Ingredients: Traditional Pho Rice Noodles Special broth Carrots Leeks Broccoli Onion Bean Sprouts Mint Lime Cilantro Tofu 🌎 Mango Boba Ingredients: Mango Puree Sugar Milk Tapioca Pearls Deciding to choose vegetarian meals over animal proteins is a great way to help our environment! 💚🌱 The food industry is seldom withheld to its contributions to global warming and actually holds a higher impact than our ways of transportation! Here's a short article explaining, if you didn't know yet 😁 https://timeforchange.org/are-cows-cause-of-global-warming-meat-methane-CO2/ Peace & Blessings 🕊☮ #environmentallyfriendly #vegetarian #tofu #vietnamesefood #pho #sustainability #bobalove #boba #globalwarmingisreal #timeforchange #methane #delicious #food #yummy #green (at Viet Pho And Grill) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMNzTllhUEC/?igshid=8s8at1g3xgwk
3rd post: 03/04/20 Thursday | Today I wanted to tell you about myself and composting. Specifically here in Frederick if you are are interested here is a link for more information: https://www.frederickcountymd.gov/1739/Composting. Anyways, just last week I bought some compost bins. Thinking these bins did "it all," meaning they took your food and just magically turned it into good soil. 🙌🏼🌱 After recieving them, I came to the obvious conclusion that, that is not the case. 😅 (They are more just stink resistant vessels that you can use to better transport your food waste to a facility that can compost it.) So, I'm excited to further figure out how to compost at home. I found this video on Tik Tok that I felt definitely worthy of sharing. I plan on actually trying to make this myself so I and my family can use it for the time being (while this pandemic is still on). 🌎 Here is the link to the compost bin pictured: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WR2YQSK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share As Kathryn mentions (in the Tik Tok) composting is one of those surprisingly effective things you can personally do for the planet, because not only does it help reduce methane gases that she spoke of, but it also helps sequester carbon when you add your compost to help better the soil. 🌱🌱 Helping Nature to do its work. #environmentallyfriendly #compost #composting #compostbin #localhoney #plants #green #sequestercarbon #reducemethaneemissions #tiktok #frederick #maryland nature #environment https://www.instagram.com/p/CMAjpoiB1DU/?igshid=11g0ikwmqhu9c

1st post 02/28/21: ☀️daze | Today is the last day of February. Here in MD, we are receiving some much needed rain. I know most people find these days inconvenient, but I find them exciting. I love knowing spring and all the green that comes with it, is on its way. 🌱 So, 2020 (what a year) invited with it a lot of knowledge to my life. At the beginning of every year my family does a sermon and Jan. 2020 we spoke about 2020 vison, seeing things clearer, and maaan did that sure manifest itself. Not in the way any of us were expecting, but in the way we needed it. 🌍 This year, I plan to take that vast amount of knowledge that I acquired in 2020, put it to good use, and spread the word of the great information that I'm working on embodying. I've learned too many things, from how to compost, fixing things instead of throwing then away, what to look for when buying things, how to cook/eat better food, vegetarian food, how to begin your sustainable journey to how to be a better vessel for your community, how to not become a cog in this clockwork of capitalism, how to be more concious and more present, how to educate others and those with different views, and even how brainwashed we are, the list can go on and on. Growing up, I never would've thought that anyone would really want to hear anything that I'd have to say. So, I'm extremely thankful for all of those subtle voices that have always believed in me and nudged me to start a blog. 💚🧡 I'm ecstatic, ready to begin this adventure. If you're interested in sustainability, conscientiousness, social/environmental justice, and unity feel free to follow. Hello Valentine's (/I Love You) Day 😘. I'm not usually a fan, but these past two years I can't help but be so thankful for the loml. 🧡🧡 And wouldn't want to go through (this-never-ending) quarantine with anyone else. "What have I, or those I represent, to do with your national independence? Are the great principles of political freedom and of natural justice, embodied in that Declaration of Independence, extended to us?...What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? Ansel Adams
Oyster is the common name for a number of different families of salt-water bivalve molluscs that live in marine or brackish habitats. In some species the valves are highly calcified, and many are somewhat irregular in shape. Many, but not all, oysters are in the superfamily Ostreoidea.
Not only does oyster farming not have a negative impact its local environment, it actually has a positive impact which is very unusual in any form of food production.
Oysters purify the water they’re growing in and both native and farmed oysters sequester nitrogen and CO2 from the atmosphere. They’re kind of little carbon capture tools.
