I personally feel the strongest feeling towards Much Ado About Nothing character archetypes than any other Shakespeare. These are the character archetypes I love and Hate the most.My background is more on the archetypes themselves then the characters in the play. This play happens to have all my favorite archetypes It was only fitting to put them in a modern form of information since these archetypes are still very modern themselves.
Relevant? Innocent Babe
You can find this archetype on the local news. A young girl full of life goes missing and turns up dead. Even in today's wold these girls are still very young.
Relevant? Malign Influence
Everyone holds a grudge. Some for one second, others for one life time. Some people let this grudge fuel them to do evil things that have been done onto them. You can most of these people in your neighborhood.
Relevent? Sidekick
Everyone at one time or another has had a best friend. So intern everyone has been the best friend. With such a close bond between people, naturally the same fate will occur for the both of them. Sidekick or best friend, both will always be relevant.
Relevant? Tragedy's Minion
If ever,Tragedy's Minion is the most relevant. When people try to do the best for them and their family they end up doing more harm then good.
Relevant?Bright Young Thing
You can find her in any modern women. The ones that do not take no for an answer and fit for the finish are the best example for this archetype.
Relevant? Big Lunk
This archetype can be found in any high school. Boy that have not finished developing mentally, and are controlled by pure hormones would fit in this archetype perfectly.
Relevant? Figure of Fun
The figure of fun is a character we play unknowingly. In new situations with new people we try to impress we mostly come across trying to know more then we do. when we are called out for this we play it of as a joke. This happens at all ages as well.

Dogberry
His misuse of words to make himself seem worthy would be classified as comical. Even though he is not as intelligent as he would like to be, he was able to spread the truth about Hero.
Margaret
Margaret is Hero’s lady in waiting. Being so close to her, she most likely wishes nothing bad on her. When the soldiers come back it is a time a of joy. When she decide to make love to Borachio she was unaware of the consequence.
Benedick
Benedick is the friend of Claudio and past and future lover of Beatrice. He is loyal to both but more so to Beatrice.
This is shown when he overhears Claudio and Don Pedro talking. They say that Beatrice is in love with him. He instantly believes this since his trust in them is so high and they do not know he he is listening. Or at least that is what he thinks.
This is also shown when he sees Beatrice upset after the wedding. In her anger she asks him to challenge Claudio for her. He does as he was asked. Before he actually challenges him the the truth is revealed.
After the wedding, the trick that was played in Beatrice and Benedick is revealed. Even though the trick itself was a lie the feelings they felt for each other where real. This leads to the wedding of Beatrice and Benedick on the same day.
His friendship between Claudio and Beatrice lead him in sharing the will of both. For Beatrice he challenges Claudio. For Claudio he shares the same wedding day.
Don John
Be the bastard child of the king, Don John will never be fully excepted as a member of the family. He will always be in the shadows of Don Pedro and never receive any type of inherits. On top of this he is not close to his half brother. The man that is, is Claudio. This motivate Don John to do anything to make Claudio miserable.When he finds out that Claudio is in love with Hero he try’s to break it up.
This is shown first when Don Pedro woo’s Hero for Claudio. During this time Don John tell Claudio that Don Pedro is doing this to have Hero for himself. Claudio does believe him and becomes angry with the both of them. Claudio’s anger quickly changes when Hero said she will marry him.
Don John tries again by plotting. He has Borachio make love to Margaret , Hero’s lading in waiting, while calling Hero’s name. During the act Don John brings Don Pedro and Claudio to witness “Hero’s” name . Due to Borachio and Conrad’s overheard talking this plan also fails.
His tragic background drives him to create just as much tragedy for everyone around him.
Beatrice
She is already set apart from the other women characters for having such a witty and cynical personality. When she finds out that Benedick is in love with her she creates a sonnet for him to express her true feelings.
After her cousins has been shamed she is filed with rage. Benedick comes to comfort her. during this encounter she expresses her hate for being a women so she could challenge Claudio herself. Which in this time period i a very liberal way of thinking. Since she can not challenge him she ask Benedick to do it for her.
Her personality is unmatched. She would have taken matters in her hand but due to her restrictions she bequeaths them to the next best thing.
Hero
To start off, she is a women and that in its self is a tragic thing. She caught the attention Claudio.Since he is the right hand man of prince, Don Pedro woo's her for Claudio.Hero is unable to say no due to the prince's high standing,and the fact that she also likes Claudio.
With the help of Don John and his underlining’s she is in the center of adultery. With this title on her name Claudio rejects her at the altar. That caused her father to outcast her. Luckily the priest sympathy’s for her. He creates a scheme to help the truth come forth. Said scheme was to publicize that she has died from the slander that was put on her.
When the truth is revealed to everyone her family stages a wedding for Claudio to marry Hero's other cousin. When Claudio reaches the alter and finds it is Hero it is a symbolic rebirth of her so that she could be clean once more.
For being a women she is unable to defend herself with these allegations. she would also have nowhere to go. luckily. With her staged death she was able to be freed of her previous rumors.
Claudio
He easily falls for Hero with just a glance. With his overwhelming love he uses the prince’s power to woo her so that she can’t say no. He lacks problem solving which makes him easily misled. This is shown several times with the assistants of Don John.
The first occurrence is when Don Pedro woo’s Hero in the name of Claudio. During the act Don John tells Claudio that the prince is not wooing for him. He immediately believes him even though the prince is noble and Don John is known for his hatred from being a bastard child.
The second occurrence is when Don John leads Claudio and Don Pedro to witness "Hero" in the act of being courted. Even though Don John has tricked him once and still falls for it and instantly believes him. This leads him to shame her at the alter.
Once he finds out about the truth he is so distraught with his once love and now agony, he agrees to marry Hero's other cousin. On the day of the new wedding it is revealed that Hero is still alive. He doesn't try to explain nor apologizes.
In the end he was the main character that gets the girl. His romantic feeling are what blinds him. This causes trouble but nothing that can't be undone.
