5 august 2025 》 cafés, busy work days ✈️ and writing course joy
hello hello, long time no see! summer's been busy and slow at the same time. crewing has been out to get me lately: last month I almost reached the maximum hours I'm legally allowed to fly! ✈️
going to cafés ☕️ to write has become a habit - I am so much more productive like that, I find it hard to get in the zone when I am home.
the third and final 10-week novel writing course has been such a fun experience, can't believe it's week 5 already! I am also super proud of myself for attending every class I was able to, and for submitting the non-compulsory assignments! 💪 received pretty great grades for them too - especially considering I did them very last minute, almost missing the deadline both times 🙈 while the course is sufficiently motivating, I have been procrastinating actually working on my novel and have been writing fanfiction instead. recently betaed a friend's fic too, which was such a rewarding and inspiring experience, never really done that before 💕
one of my goals for this month is to make connections with people in my writing class so we can keep in touch even after the course finishes. I would also like to get more enthusiastic about my novel to gain some of the momentum back, but I think I need to get at least one of the fics I'm currently writing out of my system for that to happen. while I have been writing a lot, none of it is really coming together and I've been a little unsure on how to tackle that.
can't begin to explain how ready I am for autumn. had enough of the hot weather and the busy flying schedule. mental health-wise things could be better, been isolating myself quite a bit, which is always super hard to come back from. therapy has been so good though, so happy I made the leap to finally go regularly - it's almost been a year now! 🙌
been watching so much tennis lately, which has brought a lot of joy, although definitely upped my screen time - I am constantly online livetweeting matches or yapping in my tennis groupchats about my favourites, Harri and Henry. (speaking of, Julian and Lloyd are on a 17 match win streak currently, which is incredibly annoying. if they get to number 1 before H&H I am going to be SO UPSET 😭)
the start of the new semester is drawing closer and closer too, and I have all kinds of complicated feelings about it. no use worrying about it just now though, there will be more than enough time for all that later... next month will be carnage 😅
