writing has been equally frustrating and rewarding. thankfully, i am not the only one who feels that way; my officemates also seem to be on the same boat. work has picked up as it is the end of the semester. while teaching has been fun, i am looking forward to the break.

The End Times ! (/j)

I haven't been motivated to do much of anything, not even for topics I thoroughly enjoy researching.

I have 4 presentations coming up (2 recorded, 2 in person), an instrumental analysis exam, and conference doc. submissions to complete before Friday.

Which . . . doesn't include the fact that final exams are next week, the remaining assignments I need to finish up, working at the lab, or the award ceremony I'm attending Thursday evening.

All I can remind myself is that this too will pass, and that my lack of motivation now won't make up for the regret I'll feel later if I don't try my best.

My exams have started. I got a migraine and missed two of them. I GOT THE INTERNSHIP !!! I’m super excited. I’m already exhausted and still have six exams left but fuck it we ball.

Exam week has started. I already wanna kms. Spring semesters are always harder because I haven’t been able to get into the headspace of a student. And my classes are boring as fuck this semester. I have so much to do and they’re all back to back. Genuinely don’t know how to cope but fuck it I guess. Gonna graduate one way or another.

I’m not taking my exam tomorrow I’ll probably drop the class( by that I mean fail it on purpose). Also what fucking evil ass uni administration schedules exams at NINE AM ON A SUNDAY. I hate them all. Hopefully the rest of my exams go at least slightly well so I don’t drop out. Man I wish I had when I was still in first year. I’m almost done with third year. Mistakes were made.

My cat seems to have sensed my distressed and is determined to burn away every bit of my sanity. Love her but she’s a bitch.

At least I got the internship! It’s unpaid but I’m looking forward to it.

today was a treat latte from my local coffee shop ! if im buying coffee (which is more or less a bimonthly treat) i make an effort to go to small businesses in the area - prices are better, coffee is fresher and you're supporting the non-chain economy ! makes the coffee taste a little sweeter :) this was a £3.35 vanilla iced latte to accompany a 3hr study sesh while i research my dissertation.

Lock in with me. Studying for my commercial law paper (first 1.5 hours) then pivoting to governance (1.5 hours), then law again for 1.5 hours before 30 minutes of IT note taking.

Total study time goal: 5 hours.

Study day 🫐

I went for a short walk and chose a café to sit and study in. Semester is almost nearing its end and i’m trying to stay on top of my reading. I have also ordered books for my exams and hopefully I’ll be able to pick them up in our uni library on Monday!

13.04.26. 💐🌷 spring has fully arrived! and with it my first productive writing day in what feels like forever. i enjoyed some homemade carrot cake and a london fog while writing and i think that helped motivate me :)
