CHIMERA TAROT ZINE
Chimera Tarot
The Chimera Tarot is a fully colored and beautifully illustrated deck of 22 cards, including all the Major Arcana. Created through a collaborative fan project, over 20 artists and tarot enthusiasts have each contributed a card inspired by a different character from Hunter × Hunter’s Chimera Ant Arc.
The resulting deck showcases the artists' diverse styles while providing key information to help make important choices through tarot readings. Designed to offer clarification and guidance on various situations, the Chimera Tarot includes unique spreads tailored to take its cards’ characters into account.
This project is a recreation of already existing content and we claim no ownership over the original material. All artists own their respective works
In creating The Chimera Tarot Deck, the team decided to expand the deck beyond just Meruem and Komugi, including multiple characters featured in the Chimera Ant Arc of Hunter × Hunter. The goal was to provide true representations of each tarot card that would reflect the important themes within the Chimera Ant story, rather than limiting it to a MeruKomu-centric deck.
This deck features a diverse cast of Hunters, Chimera Ants, and Royal Guards, with Komugi and Meruem taking central roles. Each artist has put their own unique interpretation into their assigned card, while still staying true to the original meanings of the tarot. Although not a complete 78-card tarot deck, The Chimera Tarot can be used independently.
It's March! This months theme for #yearoftheant is Action/Adventure. Merukomu going on a journey of a lifetime!
Attention all hunters!
The deadline for writer sign-ups is this Sunday, January 25! If you're on the fence about joining or have any questions prior to submitting your sign-up form, now is the time to ask away.
If you've submitted your form and have not yet received an invitation to the server, one of two things might be happening:
You have been placed on the waitlist! This is a tool for us to ensure that we don't overwhelm artists with too many works or ask too much of them. As we get more artist sign-ups, we'll invite more writers to the server as soon as we can.
Your DMs or friend requests (or both!) are not open! Please double check your settings and your Discord DMs to see if you have a message waiting from Shal. We've got some folks we've been unable to reach thus far, don't let that be you!
With the waitlist being a thing, this means we're looking for more artists to join this event. If you have artist friends who haven't yet signed up, encourage them to do so!
More artists means more writers off the waitlist and a Bigger Bang at the end of this event come June! It's truly a win-win :)

Sign-ups for the 2026 Hunter x Hunter Big Bang are now open!
Interested in joining the eleventh annual Hunter x Hunter Big Bang? Sign-ups for writers are open from now until January 25, while artists and beta readers have until March 30 to submit theirs!
Here's a quick outline of the roles an expectations—check out our guidebook for more information!
Writer
Writers will create a new, unpublished story that is at least 5,000 words based on Hunter x Hunter. Stories can be any genre or pairing, but as this is an all-ages event, we ask that all stories are SFW!
Artist
Artists create at least one fully lined and colored piece for an assigned story from a list of their top 5 choices. Completed stories are shared in May, and artists can select any scene from within that story to illustrate.
Beta Reader
Beta readers help edit stories based on what writers need help with. As writers request beta readers, stories will be up for grabs on a first-come, first-serve basis in our Discord. Note: Writers are not required to have a beta reader, so there is no guarantee your services will be called upon!
What happens after I submit my sign-up?
Please make sure your Discord DMs and friend requests are open! We manage all communications for this event via our private Discord server and DMs, so please ensure these settings are enabled.
Once your sign-up is accepted, you will receive a DM from our mod Shal with the server invite. Don't panic if you don't get a DM immediately! Either your DMs are closed (easy fix!) or you are a writer who has been placed on the waitlist as we await more artist sign-ups.
We can't wait to see what amazing works this year's participants produce, and we're excited to welcome folks to the server. Here's to another fantastic HxHBB and, as always, happy hunting!
