And Vander just has to listen to the other miners making jokes or flirting or staring, but at the end of the day, Silco's in Vander's bed and panting in his ear, not anyone else's

I love the idea that Silco was like the man on campus. And woman. Everyone was barking at that man. Shirtless, dirty, sweaty, a rascally little fucker like him stuck in a mine for hours everyday? Come onnnnnnnn
Him and Vander being an item is well known, not because Vander is threatening anyone who looks at Silco, but because they're is voraciously making out while on lunch break, Silco is in Vander's lap when they go out to drink, he's boasting about how big Vander is and how good he is in bed.
Everyone teases Vander, saying he got the best piece of action in all of the undercity, how he would share if he actually cared about them, asking how he even fits in a tight little ass like Silco. Vander laughs and loosely jokes back but kinda hates it. He doesn't see Silco like that, like a piece of meat. Silco eggs people on, saying that he's talented, they break the bed, yada yada yada.
But it's all talk. When they're actually alone, they both get kinda dizzy, kinda drunk on each other they don't last long. It's more intimate, more slow and thoughtful than just a rough shag.
But when Silco comes walking in with wibbly legs and a weird gait, and Vander with a pink face, whispering if he needs help getting around, everyone knows what they did.
