My 100th fic is finally up! It's a 5 part series and I will most likely be working on it until next year.
Title: Drawn To You
Ships: Sake and Shandy
Rating: Explicit
Link: Here!
Summary: New to The Crown of Twilight, Sasha and Sandy are simply trying to make ends meet. With the two hanging out after work, things seem to be going well for the pair, however, when a new bodyguard arrives with a friend, Sandy and Sasha's lives are changed in more ways than one. Shadow and Ike are bodyguards asked to protect Redd Yoshida from his enemies. It would be easy if the fox didn't have a target on his back from a deal gone wrong and with murders popping up too close to the club. A Sex Club/Serial Killer AU.
"i suck at summaries": a dubiously helpful list of tips for how to do a summaries
by no means am i an expert. but in the hopes that this is helpful.
fic summaries have two main purposes:
tell a reader what the premise of your fic is in one glance, and
provide a 'hook' that convinces them to click on it.
based on those two purposes, here's what you should aim to do:
pack the key information into something that can be read while scrolling, and
make your fic stand out.
how do you do that. there are many different ways. ymmv. here are some starting points which may help if you are really, truly stuck.
details under the cut. in summary:
know your premise
keep it short and sharp
demonstrate your style
1: can you describe your premise in maximum three lines?
fewer is better. im not saying your summary has to BE fewer than three lines, you just need to be able to describe the premise as concisely as possible. not the whole fic. not everything that happens. just your premise.
being able to condense your ideas this way will improve your understanding of the work and make it easier to summarise.
sometimes it's a bit hard to isolate what exactly your premise is, especially if you were just writing into the void. so here are some questions you can ask yourself to figure it out:
what was the idea that spurred you to write the fic?
what is the climactic action in the fic?
if the fic is an au, canon divergence, what if, etc - what is the point of difference between this and canon?
if the fic is based around a trope, a genre, a particular device - how did you apply it, what makes the work familiar, and what makes it different?
this is important, because:
2: brevity is the soul of wit
now that you know your premise, it's time to jazz it up. turn it into a one-liner or similarly catchy pitch. give it a makeover.
it doesn't have to be literally one line. however, do not make your summary super long. do not make either your summary or your tags a massive block of text. the reader is scrolling. they have not yet decided to invest time in your fic.
the ideal summary is stylish and concise. your reader should be able to take it in without pausing for too long. it gives them a good impression of you: you know how to be economical with your sentences, which means your writing is probably easy and enjoyable to read.
and on that note:
3: including an excerpt is always an option
an optional option. but if you're stuck, it's a free card to play.
readers want to know that your writing style matches what they like to read. showing off your style can help you stand out to an interested reader.
try and find a few lines which are representative of the premise, representative of your style, and sufficiently intriguing. an excerpt is a try before you buy. you just wrote a whole fic. you want people to read the whole fic and enjoy your work. so show them what you have to offer.
what is an example, postmaker
look im not more qualified to give this advice than anyone else, but here's what i do if it helps. i typically pick out a short excerpt and include a short pitch underneath it. that way the reader knows what i sound like and what the fic is about.
here is a baldur's gate 3 fic summary
shadowheart says, “kill l–”
“not lae’zel, darling, it’s too obvious. in fact, both of you are banned from killing each other.” astarion thinks for a moment. “in the game, at least.”
--
the gang plays fuck, marry, kill.
this fic has a basic premise and hinges on dialogue, so i picked some sample dialogue to demonstrate what my grasp on the character dynamics looks like and then added one line to explain what the fic is about.
here is a death note fic summary (death note spoilers) (i guess)
The night Ryuzaki dies, L appears in Light's bed.
--
(every night when light goes to sleep, his dreams place him in a romantic relationship with his newly-dead rival. it makes him sick.)
this fic has a more abstract premise, so i picked a short excerpt to demonstrate what the tone of the fic is (a bit mysterious). then i added two lines: just enough information to explain what the catalyst of the fic is, but no more than that, so that the reader will be intrigued.
here is a persona 5 fic summary
Ren grins. “You want me to date Goro?”
“Pretend-date Goro,” Ann corrects. “And make his crush jealous.”
“This is not going to work,” Goro says.
“Sure, I’ll do it,” says Ren, still grinning. He does his own rendition of Ann’s eyelash bat. “Go out with me, Goro-kun?”
“I’m older than you, so show me a little respect,” Goro says crossly. “Our relationship is off to a bad start, Ren-kun.”
--
(or: what not to do when you're fake-dating your real crush.)
this fic is based on a premise everyone knows well (fake-dating trope), so i picked dialogue that samples the tone of the fic and of the key relationship so that readers can decide if i write the dynamic in a way they personally vibe with. then i added a line to tell them what the trope is, so that fake-dating trope enjoyers know that's what it is.
"When I first read this post, I knew it would change my life—and it has! Writing a summary used to be the hardest step of the fic posting process, but thanks to the Rook Corviiid Method, I can now craft an effective summary quickly and painlessly. Thank you so much!"
Violent Tenderness is an Animal Crossing fic written by me! It's a Twitch Streamer/Kick Boxer AU with Sasha and Ike as the main characters.
Warning(s): Stalking is a main plot point in this fic along with violence and sexual themes. Read the tags and be mindful of your mental and physical health.
This is a Work In Progress that updates on Saturdays.
On May 28th, 2025, I will be uploading a new fic called "In the Company of Strangers". It's a Greek Mythology AU with certain characters about the Odyssey and the myth of Eros and Psyche.
Due to unforeseen burnout; my kinktober post won't be up until much later. In the meantime, I am finally back to updating the Prison AU for Shandy, and the next update should be out this weekend.
Can you do a fanfic of sonic and shadow hanging out
Of course!
Shadow couldn't focus on his book. This was a problem, he had been trying to sit down and read for the last three days and he finally got a chance until Sonic showed up saying that he wanted to hang out.
"I only let you in since I knew you'd keep bothering me until I did," Shadow said, setting the book down.
Sonic grinned. "Come on, you know you wanted to hang out with me," he said, walking into the kitchen. "Besides, Amy and Sandy left for their girls' trip already, why not have a guys' day?" Sonic asked, cracking open a can of ginger ale.
They had only been gone for a total of three days.
Shadow huffed, knowing the blue hedgehog would've popped up sooner rather than later as the mere prospect of being bored made him restless. However, Shadow wished Sonic had chosen a different day to bother him.
He checked the time on his phone, mumbling, "I have to get the younger kids from school,"
"I'll go with you," Sonic said, putting his can on the coffee table without a coaster.
Shadow clicked his tongue. He probably had enough space for Sonic up front. "Fine," he replied, getting up to grab his keys. "But after that you're going home,"
"So I can be alone? With nothing to do?" Sonic asked, following Shadow to the front door.
"Yes, exactly,"
Shadow just hoped Sonic wouldn't rile the kids up further with his presence. They did like being around their Uncle Sonic however, maybe Shadow could stick him with babysitting for a few hours.
Can we see a fanfic of sonic shadow sandy and Amy playing a game of twister
Sure thing! As a side note, I've never played Twister lol.
"Right hand, green," Shadow called, tilting his head as Sandy reached for the spot with supposed ease.
She touched the green circle near the edge of the playmat, sighing as she did so. Her left leg felt like it was about to give out, but she was still in the game.
Amy glanced over at Shadow, somehow halfway bent above Sonic. Granted, it was Sandy's idea to play but judging by the blushes the pink and blue hedgehogs wore, Shadow guessed this was just another plan to set them up.
"C'mon, hon, call the next color," Sandy said.
Shadow spun the arrow, glancing up in time to mark where the yellow circle was. "Left leg, yellow," he said, hearing his wife huff out a "Thank goodness,"
The three of them moved, Amy grunting with effort as she touched the yellow circle with barely enough room for Sonic to move.
Sandy did a brief handstand at that moment, confidence oozing from her as she gave her leg a short stretch. Shadow snorted. Show-off.
Sonic hummed, trying to figure out how he was going to get to yellow with the amount of space afforded to him. Maybe he wouldn't, but he wasn't a quitter. He slid his leg out, squinting a bit as he did so.
His arms began to shake with one on blue and the other on red. He touched yellow, a grin on his face as Amy breathed.
Sandy watched them, clearing her throat as she glanced over to make sure Shadow wasn't watching. Currently, it seemed like he was looking something up on his phone. Probably to read the rules or to check on the kids.
Sandy made eye contact with Amy, a weak smile on the pink hedgehog's face. The squirrel looked away to where Sonic's leg was, quickly sweeping her leg under his before placing her foot back on yellow.
Sonic yelped as his balance wavered, falling to the floor as his arms finally gave out.
"I was tripped," he yelled, meeting Shadow's glare.
"By what? Air?" Shadow shot back, glancing at his phone.
Sonic clicked his tongue. He. . .wasn't actually sure. He could've sworn he felt someone else's leg sweep him.
He moved off the mat, joining Shadow on the couch with a shrug. "Dunno," he replied. "Maybe it was the wind,"
Shadow rolled his eyes, spinning the arrow without a word toward Sonic. "Left hand, red," he said.
Sandy contorted, placing her left hand on red and waiting for Amy to do the same.
"You know," Amy started, moving. "I think Sonic was tripped," she said, winking at him.
"Oh no, what a shame," Sandy replied, her voice flat. "He's out, so it's too late now,"
Sonic tried to peek at Shadow's phone, Shadow frowning at him as he moved his hands away. "What?" Shadow demanded.
"Tell the kids we said hi," he said.
Shadow sighed, typing a quick message and hitting send. "They should be in bed by now," Shadow replied, turning his attention back to the two women.
"It's only eight," Sonic said, right as the doorbell rang. "I'll get it,"
Sonic went to the door, feeling his phone buzz in his pocket as he opened the door to find a pizza delivery waiting for him. Sweet.
He signed for it, shutting the door just in time for Sandy to fall.
Amy laughed, moving to stand as the game ended. "I won," she cheered.
"Best two outta three," Sandy suggested.
"No," Shadow and Sonic said at the same time, sharing a look.
"Boo," Sandy replied, taking the boxes of pizza from Sonic. She was smiling nonetheless, pressing a quick kiss to Shadow's cheek.
"Ugh," Sonic groaned. "Couples," he continued, moving into the kitchen and taking a seat.
"Oh please," Sandy said. "Amy, could you grab plates fer me?"
"Sure," Amy answered, reaching up to grab a stack of plates. Game night was always fun when Shadow and Sandy were hosting. She came back to the table, sitting beside Sonic.
"So," Shadow started. "They aren't in bed yet," he said as his phone buzzed rapidly on the table.
Sandy hummed in reply. "Ma n Pa must be watchin' a movie with 'em," she said.
Amy looked at the pair and then at Shadow's still buzzing phone. It stopped buzzing, clearly all of the Robotnik children having replied.
"Which movie?" Sonic asked, stuffing his face with pizza.
"Either Monsters Inc. or Frozen 2," Sandy replied. "It's a toss-up,"
As they began their debate on which movie was better, Amy was staunchly on Sandy's side.
"Frozen 2 actually has a plot," Amy said.
"So does Monsters Inc.," Shadow argued. "Who doesn't like learning about the evils of capitalism in a kids' film?"
"Me," Amy replied. "Isn't a story about sisterhood and growth just better?"
"It's just an obvious sequel set-up," Sonic interjected. "The first movie was just music videos spliced together,"
"We ain't talkin' 'bout the first movie, genius," Sandy shot back. "They're both good films, but at least Frozen 2 means somethin',"
"Okay, that's just false," Shadow said.
"The kids are too young to know about capitalism,"
"They're too young to know about colonization by that logic,"
"We could just watch the movies ourselves," Amy said. She looked at Shadow and Sandy. "They'll be in bed by the time we finish," she added.
Shadow and Sandy shared a look, unreadable by the two others in the room.
Could you possibly do a quick fanfic about shadow as a child with vanilla and cream
Sure thing!
Shadow sighed as he felt Cream's eyes on him, the teenager turning to face her. "What?" he bit out, watching the young rabbit shift from one foot to the other.
"Do you wanna play?" Cream asked, taking her hands from behind her back to hold up her dolls. "I'm bored," she continued.
Shadow looked at the dolls, then back at Cream. "No. Go be bored somewhere else," he said, turning his back to her again.
He heard Cream take in a breath. "Are you hurt?" she suddenly asked, reaching over to touch his bandaged hand.
Shadow jerked away before she could touch him. The hedgehog glaring at her. He had just changed his bandages on his hands. "Don't touch," he warned.
"Mom, Shadow's bleeding!" Cream yelled, tears sliding down her face.
Shadow swore under his breath, looking at his hands to see they were, in fact, bleeding. Shit, weren't his scars supposed to scab over by now?
Vanilla rushed into the room at her daughter's cry, kneeling to check Shadow's hands as he tried to pull away.
"I'm fine," he mumbled, ears downturned.
"What happened?" Vanilla asked him, putting an arm around Cream as the girl sniffled and peeked over Vanilla's shoulder.
"Nothing," Shadow said.
"I was," Cream hiccupped. "Asking him to play with me and he said no, then his hands started bleeding," Cream babbled, a fresh wave of tears going down her cheeks.
Vanilla hushed her, wiping her tears. "It's okay, Cream, it's okay. Shadow's just healing up from a surgery,"
"He is?" Cream asked, earning a nod from her mother. Her tears were quickly forgotten about as she wiped them away. "Then, when you get better, will you play with me?" she asked, her voice suddenly small.
Shadow sighed, meeting Vanilla's gaze. "Yeah, sure," he replied, watching Cream smile at him as Vanilla left to go grab the first aid kit.
He watched the girl leave the room, sparing him a glance over her shoulder. Maybe she would make him a card or something.
Shadow huffed, clicking his tongue as Vanilla came back into the room to help change his bandages. At least Cream was nicer than anyone he'd met in the Institute.
Hey i know this is unusually but can you do part 2 of your last request i love the idea of them switching body's and i want to see if sandy listens to shadow or breaks the rule
Aw, thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The beginning of work wasn't so bad, Sandy met up with Mei and tried her best to act like her boyfriend.
Mei looked at Shadow. Something was off, but she wasn't really about to question it until Shadow started humming. And he never hummed.
"Okay, what's going on?" Mei asked, turning the car off as they arrived in a hotel parking lot.
"What do you mean?" Shadow asked back, a smile tugging at his lips. He never smiled much either.
"This, you," Mei replied. "And whatever you're hiding,"
"I ain't-I'm not hiding anything," Shoot. What if Mei noticed that slip-up?
Mei blinked, seeming to consider Shadow's words. Then it clicked.
"Sandy, what did you do?" Mei asked slowly, taking her phone out and beginning to call someone.
"I, uh, I may have switched bodies with Shadow fer an hour this mornin',"
It was eight in the morning. Mei paused, taking her Bluetooth out of her ear. "Okay. Why?"
"I jus', you can't tell him I said this, but I wanted to see what it was like bein' him. He's so guarded 'round you that I wanted to ease him up a bit. . .make his day a bit easier,"
Mei was quiet as she listened, the blue cat sighing. "That's sweet. Next time, don't switch bodies with him though," she said, suddenly serious.
"Alright, alright, I get it,"
"How much longer?"
"Til what?"
"Until this wears off,"
Shadow (Sandy) checked the time. "'Bout five minutes,"
"Well, I'm not sending you in there with the client. So, we'll just have to wait," Mei said, checking her phone.
"But I already have his file,"
Mei hummed in reply, locking the door as Sandy reached for the car handle. "Honestly, Shadow's probably having a tough time with codin' that website,"
Two minutes left.
"Maybe. Or he's busy moping around the house,"
One minute.
"Ugh, he better not be,"
Silence filled the car as the clock turned to 8:05, Mei glancing up from her phone to find the hedgehog asleep.
He groaned a few seconds later, opening his eyes and looking at his hands. "Am I late for work?" he asked, rolling his head to the side to look at Mei.
"Nope, just on time," Mei chirped.
Sandy found herself back in her body, in her lab, and her laptop open. Was Shadow looking for a cure this entire time? She looked around, wandering into the kitchen to find a container on the table with a sticky note.
'Figured you'd be hungry in an hour.'
She huffed amusedly as her stomach growled at the smell of chicken pasta. So, he spent the hour cooking for her. "Aww, sweetpea," she mumbled, opening the container and sitting down to eat.
Sure, she usually forgot to eat during the day while working, but he didn't need to cook for her.
Hello if you are doing fan fic requests can you do one where shadow and sandy have each other's personalities
Sorry for the late reply, dealing with life.
Sandy groaned as the chirping birds woke her up. She opened her eyes, ear twitching at the hushed whisper beside her.
"I can't believe it worked," Shadow mumbled, finally noticing that she was awake. He hugged her with a wide smile. "Morning, Shug,"
Sandy groaned again as she put a hand on her head. "What worked?" she snapped, touching her throat. "What did you do?"
Shadow's smile turned apologetic, his red eyes looking into Sandy's glare. "Remember that dessert from last night?" he asked, his voice barely above a mumble.
Understanding suddenly dawned on the woman's face. "You switched our bodies?" she yelled, sitting up to see that yes, Shadow wasn't in his body. "When does it wear off?"
"About an hour. . .maybe,"
"Maybe? I have work today,"
"Then we'll wait that hour, Mei won't be too mad if I explain what happened,"
"Yeah, that's a great idea," Sandy mumbled. "I can't go to work like this and neither can you,"
Shadow raised an eyebrow. "Who said that? Look, I'll be you and you be me," he said, getting out of bed.
Sandy followed him. "Someone's bound to notice," she said, walking toward Shadow. Was he always that tall?
"Nah, I got it, no fun allowed in your body,"
"Damn right, no fun allowed,"
Shadow turned, grinning down at her. This was going to end in an hour, unless. . . Sandy frowned. Was there really a time limit? Then that meant Shadow could basically do whatever and it wouldn't matter in an hour, he'd be back in his body.
The pair got dressed, Sandy grumbling the entire time. This hour better be quick.
