“So,” Jingyi said, with gusto, “I think that about covers everything.”
Sizhui nodded sagely and looked to Jin Ling for his approval.
“Yeah, that’s the important stuff. We went through a lot to get you this information, so don’t mess it all up now,” Jin Ling said, trying his best to put on his I am important and you will listen to me voice. It only sort of worked.
Their captive audience (in the literal sense, they had abducted a fair few people) glared at them in silence. Nie Mingjue seemed to be on the cusp of qi deviation with how angry he looked.
It was at this moment the four juniors felt a familiar tugging in their stomachs, and as they exchanged glances they knew that they would be taken back to their future soon. Hopefully by kidnapping all the people they considered important and telling them about the future, they would be able to avert the tragedies that had befallen them.
“Look, we know it’s a lot to take in,” Zizhen said, “But it’s really important that you all remember this. Beware Jin Ling’s uncle.”
Jingyi wheezed a laugh, knowing as well as the others that that was a useless piece of advice. Everyone they’d kidnapped was Jin Ling’s uncle.
With those final words of parting, the quartet was whisked back to the future, leaving a group of angry, powerful and very confused cultivators tied up in the middle of a random forest. The four of them would never know it, because in their meddling they had created an alternate timeline, but by trapping the group of men in the forest they would prevent all the wrong that occurred in their future.
They would also all be missing Jin Ling’s naming ceremony, but that was probably for the best.
