Day 2 and 3 in Lyari. Went mithai hopping and thodi shopping, and i was highly impressed!
First was this amazing pink coloured falooda (recommended by the gorgeous @yalinawithdaddyissues )
Phir meine kahin ek chote local obscure shop se khai rasmalai. Very tasty and I still have the sweet milky taste on my tongue. Calories nahi ginne vali now, mein Mumbai jake calories burn kar lungi-
Phir yeh Karachi halwa that is similar to Turkish delight?? This was really good too. It's so soft and melts straight in your mouth.
Will get these sweets for the fam return karte vakt
DAY-3: Street shopping and some lil fun chaos
First paid the auto bhai handsomely and asked him to show me the best spots, the locals and tourists visit. Auto vale bhai asked me four autographs and a selfie in return (4 autographs, each for his family members) and was ready to give me a free ride actually-
Visited Saddar for antique shopping and to visit the heritage sites. Went to a small art gallery too. It was a quaint and cozy space, filled with some amazing artworks.
Ohh, now I was wearing this blue kurta set (remember the signature blue kurti dupatta set which everybody gorged on back in the day?) I heard that old desi fashion is coming back and thankfully, I had saved this piece in my wardrobe.
I moved out of the gallery to head for some street food. I had been using my dupatta as a scarf and wore some big sunglasses to avoid being recognisable.
The humid heat got to me and mujhe laga kon hi apna vakt abhi zaya karega mujhe pehchanne ke liye in this dhoop?
Wrong. First it was the young college going girls who surrounded me (i was flattered really and loved their interaction-) and I happily gave away my autographs to them, plus also got them some small jhumkis (gift-giving is my love language)
Then there were the men who gawked as if koyi movie chal rahi hai (they should because hu toh mein sabhi chaheedi shanti priya) but only a few took a brave step forward to talk to me, some were even offering to show Karachi around but do I look I will trust men on the streets randomly (shayad pehle karti)
I got five marriage proposals though which was fun to turn down. Two of them had a very creative way of proposing to me. Ek ne mast pyari si shayri sunayi and another guy recited some dialogues with a twist from my movies where the hero confesses his undying love to me. Quirky, and creative. (An appreciative note: some of these men here look really handsome though 🤌)
Some street shopping I did in Karachi. Got pretty bangles, kurtis, bags and some souvenirs for @poosaysduh @gracelovestars @theforgetfulvaanibatra
