Why are you in this fandom (What introduced it to you and why do you like it so much)?
Oh god, let me think. It was Luke Mitchell, I was reading Hunger Games fanfiction about Finnick Odair and somebody suggested Luke Mitchell for the role and I thought he's blonde, tan and has that smirk that could melt a polar ice cap. So, I researched him and found he was currently starring in Home and Away. I was hooked from the first episode I saw.
Now, it's a soap that films in Australia so it's always hard for me to keep up with every day with school and having to hunt for every episode online. So, ocassionally I would fall of it and then something would pull me right back in. Honestly, there are two answers to why I love this show so much.
One is the shallow teen girl answer; hot, tan shirtless guys all the time.
Two is the cheeseball answer; it's an ensemble show that truly focuses on the ensemble. These familes are cobbled together and couldn't be more mismatch but, they are truly the best families I have ever seen and it's a show that focuses a good point on the older generation and intermingling them with the younger generation. Something about watching these families just warms my heart.
Favourite Female Character and Why?
BELLE FREAKING TAYLOR-JEFFRIES because she is just everything I love in a perfect package. She is spunky, brave, reckless, fights like hell for what she believes and will protect her loved ones to a fault. Belle had faults though and I loved that and she owned them. She could banter and hold her own with the best of them and that's why Belle Taylor is my hero :)
Favourite Male Character and Why?
The nostalgic part of my heart wants to scream Romeo Smith from the rooftops. I loved everything about this kid and in my eyes he could do no wrong whatsoever but, my infinite love for Romeo Smith was overshadowed by the massively massive let me love you forever and ever love that I currently hold for one Casey Braxton. One thing that was different was when Casey was barely on the show for five minutes before I was pointing flaw and flaw. He was damaged, self-destructive, and always, always picking a fight with whoever was available. I spent weeks watching everything he said, every move he made trying to figure out if this kid was such a self-destructive why was i so fascinated by him. Eventually, fascination turned to that complete crazy, love them to pieces, shield them from everything sort of love you develop for a character.
Casey really started to flesh out as a character. He went from this arrogant, self-destructive jerk and his layers fell away to reveal this scared kid who had been put down his whole life, had been abandoned and assumed he was worth nothing. Then, Casey started to grow up but, no matter he was always that scared kid and I just love Casey because I've gotten to watch him grow as a character, as a kid.
Is your muse part of this fandom?
No, I wish but, Home and Away unfortunately I guess is too small a fandom to have any roleplayers :( {it's why I consistently have to battle the idea of a Casey blog.)
Would you role-play a character from this fandom if you had the chance?
Yes, Yes, Yes! I battle the idea of making a Casey blog every single day. I literally have to stop myself because I know nobody would roleplay with him. But, seriously I would give my left foot to roleplay as Casey.
Favourite Season/Movie of this fandom?
I don't really know how to keep track of seasons on a soap but, probably right when Casey started on the show. He had a lot of interactions with Romeo that were just wonderfully snarky, reminded me a lot of Damon/Jeremy which was fun to watch.
Has this fandom ever broken your heart in some way and how?
God yes. I can't tell you how many times I cried over this show. One was Jack's death, Jack was just this wholesome good guy and then his father finding him and begging for help. Second, was Aiden waking up to find Belle passed away, holding her and begging her not to leave. None, of it will ever come close to Romeo passing away from Melanoma, this kid who was so smart, so kind and so brave and had his whole life ahead of him just to be snuffed out.
Saddest Character death in this fandom? (Because we all know someone must have died)
On a soap the fear is that nobody is ever safe, never and there's always another heartbreaking death around the corner. So, I honestly couldn't name a single one. I can be a total lame rulebreaker.
Jack Holden - nothing devastates me more than a parent having to bury their child but, it's made all the worse when Tony found his son shot to death and held him, screaming for help
Belle Taylor - Belle's death was one of those things you knew was coming but, nothing could prepare you for it. Especially Aiden waking up to her having passed away in the night and begging her not to leave him.
Romeo Smith - The death to top all deaths because he was so young. He had all these dreams that kept getting knocked down and somehow he kept picking himself back up. When he was finally diagnosed though it was like this defeat had sunk into him. It was awful.

RomeoxRuby, Don't get me wrong I love these two crazy kids to death but, they were toxic for each other. Ruby's love had turned to obsession and Romeo never respected or loved Ruby as much as she deserved or loved him. They were the absolute cutest friends ever though, like legit adorable.
