- chapter 71.5
You trecked your way back to the gate of Mondstadts with wobbly steps, rubbing your sore neck as you angled your head to look at the night sky.
"Welcome, back! You- oh.." Lawrence, the guard at the gates welcomed you. Though, you didn't really seem to be in the condition to talk.
"Nice to be back.." You mumbled, giving him a small wave before entering. The guards eyes following you to make sure you didn't collapse or anything.
Now... To get all the way to Barbara... That seemed like a pain. More pain then you were already in!
So... You'll just stop by with Kathryne.
"Ad Astra Ab-" the girl stopped her usual catchphrase as she took in your appearance. Why was everyone not talking to you? You were just bleeding from.. A lot of points.
"Can I get some medical assistance?" You asked with a wry smile, shutting your left eye.
Katheryne blinked down at you in surprise, it was different from how she usually looked but she nodded nonetheless. "Right.. I'll find who I can.."
Barbara was busy with another patient, and Jean could go without having to deal with another job. But then... Who else did that leave?
She looked over at your condition, watching as you sat down at a nearby bench with pain written all over your face. Right... He wasn't exactly the most ideal healer, but...
It was worth a shot.
_______________
"Oh gosh, are you alright?!" You could hear a voice from afar as you looked up, a boy with white hair and stray googles on his head running toward you with speed that almost passed humane levels. "Don't worry! I'll patch you up-"
Before the boy could even finish his sentence, he tripped over... Nothingness and he was sent flying to the floor.
He groaned in pain before he sat up, rubbing his forehead before he looked back up at you. Eyes widening like he barely saw your condition.
"Sheesh, are you okay?" He asked once more, finally being able to make it over to you without tripping.
You let out a sigh at his words as you shut your eyes, leaning further against the bench you were on. "I've seen better days..."
Bennett nodded, he was sure he could agree. Whenever he came back after a commission, he was never in a good condition. But at least he had Barbara available.
He was.. Never one that was needed to help...
Suddenly, he found himself getting sentimental. He couldn't fail you, even if he had never met you until now! He wouldn't let you down!
He crouched down in front of you with a wry smile, his eyebrows knitted in worry as he analyzed you.
"Um... My healing can burn... A bit..." Bennett warned you, rubbing the back of his neck. "So... Sorry in advance..." He smiled.
You nodded awkwardly as a bead of comedic sweat rolled down your head. You were sure nothing could be more painful than this...
____________
You were actually right, that shit didn't hurt at all. In fact, it made you feel a lot better.
Well, you were still a bit sore, and his healing was a bit sloppy... But it was alright!
You grazed your hand over your sloppily bandaged arms, a feeling of distant pain still present but nonetheless okay.
"Hey... I'm feeling a whole lot better..!" You smiled, rolling your arms. The boy let out a massive sigh, probably one of relief. Who know he was such a capable person? Definitely not him..
"What can I do to pay you back..?" You asked, a smile still present on your face as you stood up. This guy was like some sort of miracle worker...
The boy thought for a moment before shaking his head, "I-I don't deserve your praise!" He laughed awkwardly, "any team leader would heal anyone, free of charge!"
You frowned as you stared at him for a moment, letting his words process in your brain before you smiled. "Oh! You're a team leader!?" You asked, helping him back onto his feet from his constant crouching. "That's so cool! I've always wanted to be a part of a team!" You grinned, placing your hand over his two hands that were laced together.
The boys eyes widened, a soft blush settling on his cheeks at how close you were. He was so used to people avoiding him like the plague... "D-do you wanna... Join my adventure team...?" He asked shyly.
You paused for a moment, tightening your grip over his two hands before you slowly began to nod. "Yeah... I do wanna join you!" You grinned.
"Hey, what's your name?" You asked, letting go of his hands before walking over toward Kathryne. Good thing you hadn't walked far.
"Um... B-Bennett.." He stuttered, scratching his cheek. Maybe if he told you his name he wouldn't want to stick around, anymore...
"Oh... The unlucky guy..." You hummed, putting a finger under your chin. "Joining you sounds like a lot of fun..." You grinned.
"Though... How exactly do I sign up for a team?"
Bennett stood frozen in his spot, hands still in the air from you holding them up before he walked toward you.
"I'll show you..!" He offered, speed walking toward you with a hop in his step before he stood next to you.
He'd just hope for now that you didn't leave his side...
Adepti are not meant to have easy lives. If anyone were to know that, it would be Xiao. For he, was a Yaksha. In fact, he was the last one.
He acknowledged it everyday. So much so, it even snuck its way into his dream. A nice, sweet dream. That's something he would like to have.
A sweet dream...
A sweet dream was not waking up in a cold sweet, struggling to remain calm after a sequence of continuous nightmares. Nightmares that would shove all his wrong-doings and regrets straight in his face.
Maybe it was a good thing. Maybe it was a good thing that it reminded him and never let him forget. But nor in his wake, or in his sweet dreams, would he ever forget.
Although, moments like these are why he hardly ever slept at all. He would've hardly considered himself unconscious, in fact. Merely resting his eyes if anything.
Though, in the mere hours of the morning, he knew of a person who also strayed about at the Inn. Though, with someone like you, he wasn't sure it was a good thing.
"You're still awake?" You merely asked, back turned against him as he jumped down from the Inns roof. What a weird guy. He was so on guard, yet slept on a roof. Maybe if was a sign of trust toward the Inn and it's inhabitants...
"I could be asking you the same thing. Shouldn't a mortal like you rest?" He scoffed. Making you let out a small, 'nose huff laugh' or whatever its called. Did he seriously take the fact that you believed he should rest, offensively?
"You say mortal like it's a bad thing..." You hummed, looking bad at him. "I'm guessing you couldn't sleep because of another nightmare..."
The boy scoffed, his footsteps that approached you coming to a halt. "Don't act like you know me."
You smiled softly, leaning on the railing of the Wangshu Inn as you looked down at the scenery. "I just say it how it is..." After those words, you decided to shut your mouth. Otherwise, he would probably kill you. Heh.
"Are you feeling alright?"
He was silent for another moment before his soft foot-steps started up again. "You're annoying." He stated blandly before he stopped behind you, hesitant arms wrapping around your waist.
"Maybe that makes you more interesting."
"You're really sleep-deprived..." You mumbled, looking back at him. If you were to tease him about this, he would be way to mad.. So you would just keep it to yourself for now.
"But we can stay up, just a little bit longer..." You hummed, shutting your eyes as you leaned into his touch. Actions like these were rare from a guy like him. But, you supposed he was always the type to believe that actions spoke louder than words.
And maybe, small actions like these could give him just a tiny bit of hope for the future. Like a sweet dream...

Summary: On the fortuity of Bennett’s relationship with you.
This is a three part, self-indulgent, super short series for Genshin Impact’s Bennett.
I love Bennett. I may not get major brainrots for him like I do for Xiao, Albedo, Diluc and the like, but he always has a special place in my heart (and team).
There isn’t enough content for him, and I wish to fill that hole somehow, even with simple drabbles such as this, which I am highly unused to. Those who are familiar with my writing know that I specialize in long, plot-heavy fics so this was refreshing and freeing to write.
I plan to write more shorts like this for other Genshin characters in the future, as a break away from my plot-driven Haikyuu fics haha
Luck has never been his friend. Misfortune has always been his companion.

Bennett x Reader - "that's a nice hand you got there, can I hold it for you?"
"Can I?" You mumbled, looking up at the white-haired teen as your hand hovered over one of his wounds.
He looked off to the side before he looked down at you. "G-go ahead! I don't mind.." He smiled, rubbing the back of his head.
You nodded before looking down at his hand, you had no idea how the hell a sharp rock like this existed, much less how it managed to tear past the boys gloves.
"This might sting." You warned before dabbing some anti-infection cream or whatever it was on his small wound.
Bennett simply smiled down at you in place of a whinced-reaction you expected. "My hands aren't in the best condition..." He shrugged once you two made eye contact, I tried using lotion to make them soft but it didn't exactly work.."
"Eh, I think they're fine for such an unlucky person." You hummed, wrapping a bandage over it. "In fact, it's a hand I wouldn't mind holding." You grinned, tearing away the bandage once you finished.
"Oh.." Bennett blinked sheepishly before a blush settled on his cheeks. "Oh! Haha, you can- hold it? Was that what you were trying to say? Oh, um- hold it if you want! Augh-" the boy cursed his luck, concluding that it in fact, cursed his entire sentence.
You laughed before sitting next to him, moving his arm softly before intertwining your hand with his.
The boy looked away out of embarrassment as he cleared his throat, "I don't think this is a good idea! My bad luck could kick in at any moment." Despite his words, he didn't actually want you to stop holding his hands.
"It's nice though, isn't it?" You smiled, glancing at him before resting your head on his shoulder. In response, he stiffened before calling himself down.
"Y-yeah.. I think it's nice..." He nodded, the blush on his face was basically yelling. If he wasn't so unlucky, maybe you would actually like him. Though, he was already lucky enough to have you stick around with him.
The peace had lasted for a moment before a group of passing hilichurls had noticed the two of you. It was honestly quite annoying, bitches finally get to hold their crushes hand and get interrupted by some stupid ass hilichurls!
"I knew my bad luck would kick in..." Bennett sighed before standing up, already summoning his sword. Along with you summoning your own weapon.
You looked at the two approaching Hilichurls before you looked at Bennett, your gaze constantly shifted before it landed on your teammate.
"Let's just run!" You grinned before shifting your foot and running off. "Huh-?! Hold on, wait for me!" Bennett panicked before following behind you.
The two of you ran until you made it to Vennessas tree, it was a nice, calm place, that would be perfect for-!
"Gah,, I'm kind of tired.." You huffed, catching your breath as you looked back at Bennett. If there was a Bennett-!
"Hey! Where'd you go?" You panicked and glanced around, looking for your friend.
The boy appeared from a crowd of bushes with a few scratches on his face, a hand behind his head, and a smile on his lips. "I'm right here..." He spoke to catch your attention.
"Oh, what the heck!" You panicked before running toward him. "What the hell happened to mess you up so badly!?" You asked before putting your hands on his face, observing the scratches on it.
"I fell in a bush! It's nothing to bad..." He smiled as he glanced down at you, another blush making it's way onto his face before he grabbed your hands, carefully giding your hands back down to your side.
As much as he liked your touch, it would probably just trigger another stroke of bad luck. "I'm sorry about that, it must be such a burden to hang around with me..." He frowned.
You let out a sigh before smiling. "I love hanging around with you! It's never boring, you know." You laughed before grabbing his hand again, "lets fix you up."
"You already helped me today, you don't have to..." He mumbled in shame as you shook your head.
"It's not a problem, really! Getting to hold you hand was worth it." You grinned as you continued walking.
Bennett tilted his head as the two of you settled down beneath an empty area beneath Vennessas tree. "I thought people only held hands with the people they liked."
Your face fell before you let out a laugh, this guy was either extremely dumb, or dense. Maybe both.
"Why do you think I wanna hold yours?" You asked, leaning in close with a smile. Bennett backed away, the blush on his face delayed as he blinked sheepishly.
"Oh.." He managed to say, a smile taking it's time to form on his face. "You're really smooth..!" He laughed, "I'm not talking about your hand... But it's not- I'm not saying it's not smooth, what I meant is that you were really smooth by you know-"
"Stop." You deadpanned, placing a hand over his mouth to get him to stop talking. "I understood what you meant, Benny." You smiled before moving your hand to cup his cheek. You went silent for a moment before bringing your hand down.
"I like you a lot, you know." You hummed, brushing the fringe of his hair to observe the scratches on his face. "A little bit of bad luck wouldn't change that."
The poor boy needed a good moment to process everything. A soft blush settled in on his face along with the information.
"I always thought that if I fell in love, my feelings wouldn't be reciprocated..." He chuckled nervously. "You're a pretty strange person.." He mumbled before lifting up his arms awkwardly.
"Can I?" He asked, it took all his will power to not look away.
"Go ahead." You nodded, lifting your arms up aswell.
He took the chance, and your consent, to wrap his arms around you. Resting his head on your shoulder. "I like you a lot, [Firstname]..." He confessed. You could've sworn you could feel his entire body warm-up.
"I like you, too." Your words came out in a breathless whisper. Come on, a confession is enough to take someone's breath away, alright?

Venti found them interesting.
Far to interesting.
During his entirety of ruling over Mondstadt, never had he encountered someone so fascinating. Even after spending time with them, it simply wasn't enough.
Venti had a destiny set for him since the moment he was born. That was what he liked to believe. He was a windspirit, free to live life as he wanted. His entire life, he believed he knew what he wanted.
But now, his brain was going haywire.
How had he never noticed them, before? Were they not from Mondstadt? It was as if they were what he was looking for his entire life. This was his destiny.
Though, he almost felt bad.
But this was good!
"[Firstname], I'll carry your name out through history..." He smiled sweetly, looking down at them. So peaceful. He wanted to be as peaceful as they were, at that moment.
No, he didn't want what they had. He wanted to be them.
"This event will go down in history.." He continued, he didn't know where to place his hands. "I will make you a God..!" He pressed on, placing his hands around your throat. But he couldn't bring himself to squeeze.
"I'll make your death a sound of a beautiful symphony," Now he was expecting a reaction. He wanted a reaction.
He tightened his grip, furrowing his brows in anger. "This is my destiny, our destiny." He reassured no one but himself. Convincing himself to go through with it.
Finally, [Firstname] struggled under his grip, squirming before their eyes opened slowly. Needing a moment to process the sight, they hadn't said a word.
"What's the matter..?" Venti questioned, irked at the lack of a reaction.
Their eyes widened,, eyes fluttering in slow blinks to process the sight. It wasn't a dream? This was to weird to be reality. "You-, what're you doing?!" [Firstname] threw their hands over the archons forearms. Hoping to weaken his grip.
"Don't fight back, you are a mortal, and I am a god." He reminded, narrowing his eyes. He wanted you to know his place, so you could just die without remorse..! "I'm not doing this out of spite, or envy!" He huffed, tightening his group. He was so strong for a little guy.
But that wasn't actually his body, was it?
"I have a heavy heart, but you'll forgive me! Don't you want your face to be known as a God!?" He frowned, clenching his teeth.
"No-! I'm not a God! I don't want to be-!"
He always knew he could be anyone he wanted. Have anything he desired. But he never knew it could feel so great.
OMG guys I'm almost at 80 followers yayaya😩☝

VENTI X READER, NO PRONOUNS USED
"You just stepped on my foot." The anemo archon pointed out, despite how he tried to guide you into actually dancing, you simply couldn't.
"I'm trying my best, here!" You huffed, tightening your grip on your shoulder as you looked down at your feet, attempting to copy his movements.
Venti let out a snicker as he purposefully misguided you, taking your hand in his and he walked backward. "Isn't this fun?" He grinned.
"Not at all!" You shook your head, furrowing your brows. Following his movements as he guided you backward.
"Thats just because you have horrible rhythm, [Firstname]!" Venti laughed, swaying you side bye side before he wrapped his arms around you. Resting his head on your shoulder.
Your hands were pinned to your side awkwardly as you looked down at the boys back, his whole cape thing was pretty cool.
Raising your arms, you wrapped them around him.
"I feel at peace when I'm by your side, my love." He hummed, shifting his weight from foot to foot. "As long as we may live, I won't ever leave your side~! I won't make you say the same, but, ah, I would like it if you did." He grinned.
"Well, Barbatos... Till' death do us part!" You smiled, now you were the one rocking him side by side.
×
Now, you weren't actually planning on dying to make your words true.
"I'm cold.." You wheezed out, glancing up at your lover who looked down at you with teary eyes. It hadn't even been cold out, it was more neutral, than anything.
The gentle breeze seemed to slow even more, the rustling of leaves coming to a hault. "Is that better, my love?" Venti asked, blinking his tears away. "It's not even cold, silly.." He laughed sheepishly, dropping his head onto your chest.
"Let's play a game...!" He proposed, his hand making its way toward yours. He wouldn't be able to make it to Monstadt in time. And if he brought you lifeless body to the city, people would've gotten the wrong idea.
"Sure..." You grumbled, your voice weak as you moved your free hand, softly resting it on top of the bards head.
"Okay, then... I spy with my little eye...." He started, looking out at the scenery. It took him all he had to not burst into tears. "S-something brown!" He smiled.
You looked around, the forest was full of brown colored things... Like the bark of the trees, or pine cones... Having to think so much about it was making it easier to ignore the pain. "Um, the dirt?"
"Bingo, ehehe!" Venti nodded against your chest. "You know me to well! But that was to easy!" He tightened his grip on your hand, hoping to get a reaction from you, but there was nothing. "Your turn!"
"... I spy with my little eye..." You started, blinking slowly. "I'm tired..."
"I can see, that..." He mumbled, "you're going to easy on me!" He huffed, sitting up to get a good look at your face.
"Can I take a nap...?" You hummed, your eyes drooping shut. "Wait for me, please..."
Venti looked down at you, watching as your eyes fell shut. It'd be better to not cry... You probably wouldn't want to see him sad...
"I'll wait however long it takes, my dear..."
I really need to make banners for my one shots
Chongyun & confessing
Reader has no specified gender
Confessions were painfully hard to plan out.. It wasnt the planning of what would happen afterward, whether they accepted the others feelings, or rejected them. The hardest part was,,, planning how to not overheat and go batshit crazy.
"Why go through all this trouble, Chongyun?" You hummed, arms raised in the air as you read the book Xingqiu had lended to you. It was full of big words you didn't even understand. "Just confess! And if they don't return the feelings, their loss!" You hummed.
"Yeah, their loss, huh...?" He repeated, placing a hand over his chest in an attempt to calm his rapidly beating heart. If he let it get the best of him, he'd probably do something crazy. "They don't have much to lose."
You rose your brow as you turned your head toward him, there was plenty to lose. Infact, if he went out and confessed to someone that accepted the feelings, you'd be losing a ton, there! But you couldn't keep him by your side, forever.
"Well it would be their loss of a lovely boyfriend." You hummed, looking back up at the ceiling to think of something. "A cyro vision wielding, claymore using, Exorcist boyfriend!" You summed up, rolling over onto your stomach. "Sounds cool to me."
"But I've never even excorcised a spirit, before..." He sighed, a frown stretched on his lips.
"Yeah, well... You win some you lose some." You sighed, picking the book back up from your side to continue reading the book. "There's no reason to worry about their answer... Until you get the answer, and I'll be here to comfort you."
You turned to the side to hide your frown, man, there was no reason to be jealous or sad at a moment like this. Chongyun could never even show emotion, but if he had a partner, maybe he would actually be happy.
"You'll be my friend even if they say, no?" He asked, shutting his eyes as he exhaled deeply. Removing the hand from over his chest, he stood.
"Here goes nothing," He gulped, "I-I've got this." He reassured himself before turning to you, he kind of wanted to see your face, but your back was turned to him. "Can you-, turn around?" He asked.
You quickly turned around, focusing on the book in your hands. Though, you were actually reading any thing. You were just, staring at it. He couldn't see you behind the book you were reading, but it was enough.
"[Firstname], I-," He paused, shutting his eyes. Keeping control of his feelings was really hard at a moment like this.
You lowered the book to peak at him, there was a noticeable blush on his face despite the fact he hid it behind his hands.
It took him a few seconds before he brought his hands down. His face as stoic as it could be with a blush accompanying it.
"I-! I-!" He sputtered, he couldn't get a hold of himself no matter how much he tried. "I-!"
"I-really-like-you!" He sputtered quickly, making eye contact with you. All he could see were your eyes, but he was sure you were surprised.
"Oh," You blinked, lowering the book from your face. Your blush was delayed, but it spread like wildfire. "I see..."
Chongyuns posture went rigid before he loosened up, just 'oh, I see'? That was a horrible response. He wanted to know how you felt-!
"I feel-," You started, looking for a way to hide your face. You really shouldn't have put the book down. "I feel the same way-"
A thud echoed through the room as Chongyun resided on the floor, steam comically pouring out of his ears.
"Oh, he passed out.."
Requested by someone on Quotev! I love the concept so I decided to stop procrastinating, and actually do it!

"The job of a knight is hard, you know." Kaeya sighed, looking up at you. It was nice, his head resting on your lap. A frown stretched upon his lips.
Usually, he would be all smiles in a moment like this. Spending time with the one he was interested in seemed glorious, what he would say was genuine. Not just some throw away, flirty remark that had no significance behind it.
"You act like you're carrying the Knights on your back, or something," You hummed. Running your fingers through his hair. In return, he shut his eyes. Well, maybe he could've winked but you couldn't tell.
"My back is aching, perhaps I am." He laughed quietly, he ached for it to always stay this way. But the situation was painfully cliche. Two people who couldn't be together no matter how much they wanted to, it was such a silly trope, Kaeya couldn't help but smile out of embarrassment.
Embarrassment, because he actually became victim of such a trope.
"Don't knights get special treatment, or something?" You hummed, looking off into the distance. The two of you could never be seen in public, together. That would just get Kaeya a one way ticket to joblessness, and the outting for your arrest would just skyrocket. "You can get a special massage, or something..."
The Cyro user opened his eyes slowly, looking up at you. Would growing distant from you hurt more, or less? "I'd much rather prefer a massage from you," He smiled.
"Hah, you're funny." You scoffed, leaning against the tree behind you. "You're not so bad, Kaeya. When we first met, I seriously thought you are going to arrest me, or something..." You admitted, resting your hand on top of his forehead as you listened to the cool breaze.
"Oh, I was." He laughed, adjusting his head as you moved. "I don't regret backing down though, wouldn't want to hurt your beautiful face." Acting like everything was fine definitely wouldn't get him anywhere.
"... I love you, Kaeya." You sighed, finally able to spit out the words you yearned to say. Even if nothing would be made of it, even if nothing could be made of it, it felt good to get those words off of your chest.
"... I know."
Acting cold definitely wouldn't help, either.
"... What happened to your face?" You asked the white-haired boy who had just entered
Despite all the scratches, he was still smiling.
"Is it really that bad? I thought you wouldn't notice!" He laughed, scratching the back of his head. "I would've used my fire, but I didn't want my face to be all burnt up.."
You let out a sigh as you stood up, recently, he had stopped bothering Barbara and started heading straight for you after he was injured. "You wouldn't want to hurt that pretty face of yours, right?" You hummed.
"Oh?" He blushed, scratching his cheek as he shut his eyes. ".. Right..!" He nodded. Sitting down on a nearby chair. "Sorry for bothering you so early."
You shook your head as you pulled out a chair, sitting across from him. "It's not a problem, but did you sleep well last night?" You asked him, taking one quick look at his face.
"Ah, no,," He chuckled, "I didn't have enough Mora, so I slept in a tent, instead!" He explained, a big smile on his face.
You pulled up a bundle of bandaids from who knows where and unwrapped one. You would actually put a bandaid on whatever looked bad and call it a day.
"Shouldn't you do something to disinfect it, or something...?" Bennett asked, struggling to look up at your hand. Damn, if he was gonna be picky, just go to Barbara. Or heal yourself, mofo!
"Huh, you're totally right. I forgot you had a doctors degree." You retorted, narrowing your eyes as you brushed his hair out of the way. Instead of placing the bandaid on it, you leaned in, giving him a peck on the forehead.
"There we go, all healed." You hummed, bringing your hand back up to apply the bandage.
"HuAh-" Bennett blinked rapidly, placing a hand over his forehead. "You just-" It took him another few seconds before he shot up out of his chair. "I- I gotta tell someone about this-!" He yelled, bursting through the door he came in from.
_
"What's up with your hair? You a trend setter now?" You asked the boy who entered the building once more. A big smile was worn across his face.
"I'm just making it easier for you to heal me, heheh!" He grinned, rubbing the back of his head. "But,, I was unlucky. I actually didn't get injured this time.."
Man, did this guy want to get injured that badly or something? Was this masochism? "I'd give you a kiss on the forehead anyway." You clarified.
Y'all can leave requests 🙄🙄🙏 I write for Danganronpa too,,
"Remind me why we're going to sit here all night?" You sighed, glancing toward the boy next to you. His eyes were shut as his head leaned downward. He seemed focused on something.
"I want to see if having you around will make the entity, appear." He explained, opening his eyes as he crossed his arms. "You seem to be a repellant of my positive energy."
Your eye twitched as your face turned into one of a grimace. "Are you saying I'm a pain to be around?" You concluded, eyes shutting tightly in an attempt of keeping your mouth shut, as well.
"That's not what I was trying to say." Chongyun sighed, scanning the immediate area. Seems like bringing you along wasn't going to work, after all.
You went silent, crossing your arms as you looked around. Seemed as though his plan of using you as a repellent didn't work. That meant you weren't actually a bother.
The house definitely belonged to some mega-rich, person...
The silence was nice for a moment until you spoke. "Did you invite someone over, or something?"
"As far as I'm aware, we were the only two allowed onto this property," Chongyun answered you, following your line of sight.
"Then, do you think there's really-?" You gulped, ghosts weren't real, and especially not when Chongyun was around. It was basically impossible for something like this to happen. Did you really make his mood so sour his cognitive energy would just disappear? That kinda hurted, tho.
There were a few creaks here and there that shot a jolt of fear through you. This shit was scary, as fuck! The boy next to you rose. It took all his will power to not just burst into tears of joy. This was finally his moment to shine!
"I am an exorcist, there's no reason to be scared, you know." He cleared his throat. Not letting the excitement seep into his voice. "My training will not have amounted to nothing, I will complete this commission successfully."
"Well, exorcise the bitch, already!" You panicked. As much weird shit as you've seen, seeing Chongyun actually be able to exorcise someone was the weirdest.
"Don't-"
"Why the fuck are the lights out!?" You panicked, lunging out of your chair. "You can see in the dark, right?" You asked, flailing your hands out to find him. Wasn't he literally like, just in front of you? Where'd he go?
"No, I can't see in the dark." His answer was delayed, "and try not provoking the entity by calling it a bitch."
"Ohhhh, haha. Did I call them that? It was just a joke,," you chuckled nervously, walking toward his voice. "Hahaha, my beautiful bestie, you -,"
"Shh," The exorcist shushed you, taking a step back. Bringing his hands up. "I can sense something..." He hummed, opening his eyes in an attempt to adjust to the darkness.
"Man, I'll buy you like, 5 thousand popsicles if you actually do it...!" You offered, accidentally bumping into him.
The boy moved aside, "Oh, really?" His voice seemed excited now, popsicles really were the only thing that managed to get him to show his emotions...
"Mhm,, I'll even make it 6 thousand!" Upping the bar probably wasn't good for your wallet. Because, if you thought about it, you could only afford like, 3 popsicles in total.
The darkness lasted for a few seconds, a dim glow filling the room before the lights turned back on. Well, it was darker than it was before. But the lights were on.
"How the fuck did the lights turn on? Did you exorcise the apparition so hard the lights felt it?" You blinked, your eyes taking a moment to adjust.
Chongyun furrowed his eyebrows as he shook his head. "No, I didn't do-"
"Ugh, my beautiful bestie, it's time to get popsicles." You urged, placing your hands behind his back to push him out. "I don't want to spend another second in here."
"But I didn't-"
"Come on, I'm sure Xingqius' waiting for us there. He's rich, and stuff. He'll probably buy the store just to flex."
"But-" Chongyun tried to object but he let out a sigh of defeat.
"How come both of my friends are so pushy..."
W, woah finally made another one shot
The whole world seemed quiet at that moment... No but you and Venti standing on some sculpture of himself. He was quiet. The wind was quiet. The world was quiet.
The moment of peace would be quite nice if it weren't for the circumstances. The mourning of an ageless God... It was to witness.
"You know, [Firstname], my first and only wish in the entire world was to travel the entire world, and see lots of new things." He spoke suddenly, catching you by surprise.
"And.. What happened?" You asked slowly, looking up at the starry sky. It was nice,,, and calm. How were the winds when Venti was angry? Or when he was in pain? Did it stay calm even then?
"Well, I met you of course." He answered with a smile. Even during a time of mourning, he could bring a smile to his face... "And then, I realized, wherever I go, I want you around."
You blinked, taking a moment to process his words. "I see.." You hummed, a small blush making its way onto your face. "You better not kidnap me or something..."
"Haha, of course I wouldn't." Venti laughed dimly, of course, no matter how many jokes you threw his way right now, he would still be sad. "I'll just follow you around, instead." He grinned.
You let out a small sigh before turning to him, "youve already followed me around for so many decades, I don't think it'd change much." The smile that made its way onto your face was one you couldn't control.
Venti brought a hand up to his chin tontjink. "I guess you're right..." He hummed quietly, his face serious for a moment before it picked back up. "Then this time, we'll go as partners!" He stated with all the pride in the world.
"At least I'm not your sidekick now," You deadpanned as you looked toward the distance. His words taking a moment to process through your brain. "Hold on, what?!" You snapped your head back toward the boy. Blinking rapidly in disbelief.
"Hee hee, of course you would be shocked at a moment like this." His grin turned into one that was basically treasing you. "Who wouldn't be shocked when the dear God of Anemo, proposed such a vital thing?"
You furrowed your brows as you frowned, "I haven't even said yes or no, yet! Don't get smart with me." You huffed, shutting your eyes in irritation. The audacity Anemo gods had these days, smh.
"Heehee," Venti smiled, placing his hand over yours. "But we're basically already together! This is an Enternal flame!"
"The hell is an Enternal flame?!" You huffed, refusing to look at the boy. He wasn't even give you a damn moment to answer before he progressed with doing shit!
"Flames of passion, obviously! Enternally, forever, infinite, you know." He shrugged, his hand still not leaving yours. "I wanted to tell you before, but I'm a little shy, you know."
"I'm a little shy, my ass." You grumbled, turning back to him. "A bard simply can't be shy." You sighed, placing a single finger on his forehead. "But my partner can." You grinned.
Ventis eyes widened before he let out a small laugh, a barely notice blush appearing on his face. "I must say, you surprise me, [Firstname]!" He smiled. "Getting out-charmed is not my strong suit."
"Well, I guess you should really get used to it."
The wind seemed to have picked up a bit...
