How has your opinion of social media changed from doing this project? Some people look at social media negatively â how would you argue with them that it can be useful and educating?
I spend most of my days in social media. It's very entertaining. I didn't know the advantages of social media. I thought it all about communicating and sharing ideas. I thought social media is only for fun. It can never be used for any educational purposes. After doing this project it changed my opinion about social media a lot.Â
I disagree with some people who look at social media negatively. Social media is never a negative thing, unless the person using it is using it positively. Social media could increase the confidence of your child. After I've been through this Tumbler project I learned many new stuff including justice and reputation. I personally learned new skills and creative ideas. Social media plays a big role in everybody's life, so it's important to use it safely and educationally.Â
What is your overall point of view of justice or reputation? Has it changed from before we started the unit? If so, how? Write two paragraphs.
In the beginning of the project i thought Justice is only a concept of moral rightness that contains different perspectives on fairness, ethics, rationality, religion and law. I didn't know that Justice was a big deal. I thought it's all about fair treatment. Only if I type Justice in the search tab I got more than 78 million results.
After all the posts we did for 7 weeks at least one of them is related to Justice. Every week I would learn about Justice or recent event related to Justice. That changed my point of view. I realized that Justice is one of the biggest problems around the world. Justice should be spread all around the world, because it is considered as one of the most important human rights.
Prompt
after watching and reading the piano lesson, which type of medium did you like and why?
I like to watch the movie rather than reading the Piano Lesson book. When i read the Piano Lesson book it gave me the plot, characters, and setting directly. I have to imagine the scenes and connect them together. In movies you just have to set , watch, and enjoy. You should not worry about imagination in movies, because it is in front of you. Also movies bring books to life. Sometimes I think that some details and fun dialogue between characters are lost in a movie. In books the message is given to you.

My tumblr Prompt
If you had the chance to change something in the world or school what would it be?
Les Miserables is a movie that talks about Justice. It talks about the French Revolution and slaves fighting for justice. In this video you will see how the king is so wealthy, but the the rest of the French population is poor and in hunger. The French population is fighting for justice from the king. All this had turned them to beggars and criminals. All the women and children are left out without any work.
scene 1 act 2: When Winning boy starts thinking of a woman he just left in Kansas City, then he remembers thee death of his ex-wife, Cleotha. He starts reading the letter announcing her death. He reads a letter announcing her death and funeral to Doaker. The song and this scene talks about death of someone they really loved.
Guardian Angel Written by Leah West
Little baby up in heaven says to God âDo I really have to go?â God replies âYes itâs your time to leave But donât you worry you wonât be there alone
You see thereâs someone whoâs been waiting for you Quietly hoping and praying For your sweet and safe arrival Down on earth
Everyone is born with a guardian angel And on her wings sheâll let you soar Higher than you thought was possible Sheâll love you and protect you like no other And your guardian angel has a name You can call her mother
As you grow and make your way on through the world Sheâll be a softer light to guide you on your way Instilling bits of wisdom like arrows in your quiver To help with all the challenges that youâll have to face
Rest assured that no matter where you are Youâll be surrounded by her love A gentle support to help you keep your faith Youâre always in her heart and who sheâs thinking of
BRIDGE The sacrifices that she will make To put you first when everythingâs at stake How all that sheâs devoted Until now you never noticed She was showing you How to be a guardian angel too
A slave's cry Stranded in this place I cannot recognize Abandoned and lonely No one hears my cries AS i walk through this wasteland Of wilderness and desolation I am consumed with anguish I walk this road with hesitation On every turn that i come upon The is more pain than at the last turn Agony and torment spews from my pores With every step i take more pain i earn Until i am enveloped with grief Buried alive on my feet Dirt in my eyes, nose, mouth, and lungs I throw up my flag of defeat Each painful blow leaves behind a deep gash That is constantly reopened never able to heal Infection has now set into my heart Slashes and scars on my body reveals the detail Of the despair embedded deep in my soul That tells a tale of a soul so lost A soul wandering through this wilderness A tale of what being born black cost What is the common theme? Racism In what ways is this theme represented differently? Use examples. The poem shows how black colored people live differently. Everywhere you go their is pain and dirt. Example in the poem, "With every step i take more pain i earn" and "Slashes and scars on my body reveals the detail". In the pictures shows how white men controlled black slaves. The picture Shows a white man holding a gun in a black slave's face. In the other picture shows what white men would do to their slaves. They have right to control their slaves. If slaves don't obey they hit with all kinds of painful weapons. In what ways does the medium makes us understand the theme differently?Give specific evidence. In the poem the writer says, "With every step i take more pain i earn" and "Slashes and scars on my body reveals the detail". It was given to us that black men lived differently from white men. It showed how black slaves lived a harsh and painful life. And also how white people don't care if you die or not. All this was written directly in the poem, which made it easier to understand. In the picture it showed the back of a black slave after getting hit. The picture helped us to visualize this. In the other picture it shows a black slave standing still while the white man is holding a gun in his hands. It looks like the black man is giving up.
I know a lot about my familyâs history. I am very thankful and grateful to have this family. My great grandfather lived in Yemen in place called Hadramout. He was called âColonel Ahmed bin Abdullah Barasheed Alnouha, and who served as adviser to the army Badia Hadrami for Badia, one of the most prominent officers of this army has been tested in more than one occasion during the reign of Englishmen At the beginning of the reign of the National Frontâ. He did what he could to provide justice for everyone. He died in 23, July , 2013, in which he completed 115 years. My grandfather died drowning in the sea. He was driving in mountain something went wrong with the car and the car fell from. The mountain to sea. My uncle was with him but he survived. My father was only 12 years old when heâs father died. My father married my mother in Saudi Arabia, then they came to United Arab Emirate to live for the rest of their lives. I am very proud of my family.Itâs important to know your past t be aware of your future. Also to see what theyâve done wrong and try not to do the same. I relate to Boy Willie, since nothing will stop him from buying Sutterâs land. I will never stop when I reach college cause that what most of my family did, even my father. I will educate myself as much as I need to get a job.
Reflect on how The Piano Lesson can be represented in two different mediums. What sort of impact does this have on the story? Have you ever read a book that was later turned into a movie? What changed between the two mediums? Write two paragraphs.
The Piano Lesson can be represented as a movie or a written play. the two different mediums share a lot in common, such as same plot and setting. There was some difference, because the movies are usually 2 hours and they can't put every single scene so there was some deleted scenes . This impacts the whole story. the movie shows the characters in real life, which helps us to see their emotions and understand how they feel. There were some parts in the book that were funny and I didn't realize that until I saw the movie in class. In the written play there were some songs,I didn't know how to sing them so I just read it quickly. When I saw the movie I saw how they sang it and danced to the music it was more fun to watch. I have read Divergent, which was later turned to a movie. In the movie many scenes were added and deleted. The book was more fun to read because it was so detailed that I could visualize every chapter of the book. The filmmaker choose to make Four 24 years old, while the book he was 18 years old. In the book Edwards lose one of his eyes while in the movie he doesn't. Myra, Shana, Lynn, Marlene, Drew and Zeke are not included in the movie while in the book they are. There was less fighting in the movie. There was many more, because the filmmaker picks what he wants and leave the rest.
I actually disagree with you Rawdha. The Tumblr project is so fun and it's easy marks. If you want to share ideas with others you can do that by commenting in their posts. Of course it's not a waste of time, rather than writing your posts in your copybook you write it online for everyone to see. Show your creativity in Tumblr, to make it more fun. It takes 30 minute not more to do 3 posts. Everyone would rather type than write in their copy books.
reflect on your process with tumblr so far: What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? Does it help to see other studentsâ posts? Refer to another classmateâs post, and explain something that you learned that you didnât know before? Pick an idea that you had before starting this project and explain how it has changed through class discussion and classmatesâ differing ideas in their tumblr posts.
I really love Tumblr so far. I really liked that we create our own blog and share our ideas with others. It's a new fun way to do a project. While it supports written content, it is mostly used to distribute and promote images and video. Creating a Tumblr account for yourself gives many benefits for building your skills. Tumblr is simply an easy way to promote your favorite stuff. While it supports written content, it is mostly used to distribute and promote images and video. My favorite thing in Tumblr that you can upload posts in many different forms. Such as quotes, videos, and e-mail. I like everything about Tumblr. I have nothing that I don't like in Tumblr. When I am stuck while writing my assignment in Tumblr I can go check what others posted. For example: 2 weeks ago when we had to write 2 paragraphs about justice. I didn't know how to start or what to write I went and saw her post and studied It then I did my own post. I learned that justice is a big deal for everyone. Everyone is trying to have justice everywhere they go.I never knew that Justice was a big deal in many countries, but as I keep searching every week about articles there is more everyday. At first I thought that justice is everywhere and everyone is treated equally. But I reals end that till now there is black and white arguments.
"Must have five hundred watermelons stacked up out there". Act 1,Scene1 page: 7
Find a quote from The Piano Lesson that shows a time when justice is not being achieved/ or injustice is created. Then write a short paragraph explaining how this shows this. Boy Willie is having a hard time selling watermelons everywhere. Sutter have hundred acres of land. Boy Willie is struggling to buy this land. He will do anything to buy this land. Even if he had to cut the piano into two pieces, since he have right to do that. Which Berniece will never agree on. This shows injustice that been created in The Piano lesson. In 1930s the Great Depression accord. This cause hardships for black men to gain or have a job for their families. In the other hand white men have lands. Most black colored men worked as slaves in lands owned by white men. It was the same for Berniece's family and Sutter's family. White and black we're not equal at that time which needed justice.
Why does reputation matter to you? How has having a good or bad reputation impacted your life or someone you are close to?
As a definition reputation symbolizes other people point of view of anther person's characters. Its like their first impression of you. If you have a good or bad reputation it could effect your life or personality forever. Reputation is important for everyone because somehow, it can change the way people respect you. If you establish a good reputation, it could help you in creating new friends and everyone will trusts you. Of course this will lead to self confidence. A bad reputation, on the other hand, will make people avoid you like your unwanted. They could even create rumors about you even though you didn't do anything to them. They will not give you any chances to prove their wrong. It will be a hard battle to deal with. My sister had a bad reputation when she was grade eleven. She had friends, but they always told her to ignore rumors. Everyone thought that she hits, because she had a short hair cut. Which they thought is boys hair cuts. For a whole year she had struggled to talk with her classmates. But now when her hair had grown all the bad reputation is gone and all of her classmates are talking to her in all kind of social medias. All of that had changed her life forever. Now she's much happier and thankful for her friends.
This song is about love, equality , friends, Racism, religions, and bravery. This is my opinion and some advices:
" Black , white or beige stand up for yourself". Racism is hard to change or get rid of. Racism separates us from each other. Donât judge people about physical appearance or the color of skin, but judge them about their actions. Donât rely in what people say ,judge when you see it. Always stand up for what you believe in and not let others take your thoughts away. Donât be afraid that someone will hurt you. Bravery is not something you can easily get. You have to gain bravery it will be hard, but you can make it if you try. You should have self confidence.
âLove friendâA friend is a gifts. Friends doesnât have any blood relation with you. Itâs a relation trust and love. You should feel comfortable with your friends to share your deep secret or feelings. A true friend never judges you and always tries to support you and give you good advice. Choose your friends wisely. âReligion of the insecure ,be myself, respect my youthâ. Religion plays a significant role both for individual and Society. you can get bullied by your religion or even get hit. Life is full of âdisabilities and bulliesâ, So stay strong and keep going.
But at the end you were born this way. Donât hide cause you will regret it later. Donât worry about appearance worry about actions. You were born beautiful â cause god makes no mistakesâ. âBe a Queenâ.
