Review: Kylie Jenner's Lipkits v ColourPop's Ultra Matte Lip
Liquid lipsticks are in and I'm so happy. I love a matte lip, and having a formula go from liquid to matte is amazing in itself. Kylie Jenner launched her liquid lipsticks in November of last year and they sold out in minutes. And the same thing happened at the second launch. And the third. For $29 for a liner and liquid lipstick, it seems reasonable that everyone would want to get their hands on them, especially since they're created by the queen of lining lips herself. Maybe it's not so reasonable when you compare that price to those of Colourpop, where Lippie Pencil sticks are $5 and Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks are $6. I got even more curious after I heard rumors that the Lipkits are just rebranded ColourPop liquid lipsticks. I decided to get both to see how they compared and figure out if they really are the same. My findings? The Lipkits are NOT the same as ColourPop, and both are fantastic for different reasons. When I wore ColourPop, I loved how long the colour stayed on. I went the entire day (about 10 hours) without touching up or reapplying once. It did bleed a tiny bit on the corners of my lips for one colour, but that might have been my fault. The trade off to this, though, is that it was extremely difficult to take off. If you accidentally overline, good luck fixing that. I had to really scrub it off, which made around my mouth so red from all the rubbing. It was also a bit stickier than I would have liked, although it did still look matte. Now on to the Lipkits. When I used the liner, I immediately fell in love. I loved how smooth it went on my lips and that it was the perfect amount of creaminess. I felt the same way about the liquid lipstick itself. It was such a smooth and light formula, and dried to the perfect matte. It wasn't sticky at all, didn't transfer on to my coffee cup, and the colours are perfect. Plus it has a vanilla scent. The downside? It doesn't last all day without touching up. As someone who overlines her lips, I didn't love when it started to fade off, making my overlining uneven. I would ultimately choose ColourPop over Kylie's Lipkits. While Kylie's looked better, I loved knowing my lipstick would get me through the whole day without a touch up. However, I think they're both great quality and worth their prices. Glad to have them both in my makeup collection!

7 QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK AT THE END OF EVERY JOB INTERVIEW.
Click here to find out why these questions help you.
This is so important! I never know what to ask and end up looking like a fool cause I don’t have a question prepared. Don’t be me.
The weird thing about this post is that it ALWAYS shows up when I have an interview
BRILLIANT. This is so useful.
So helpful and relevant right now! Thanks!
This is good advice, but can I throw something in that’s maybe Australian lawblr specific? Ask about their continuing legal education (CLE or CPD or Professional Development, it’s called different things in different states). It’s super important that wherever you work is supportive of your mandatory education requirements, because ain’t nobody wanna spend their weekends doing CPD.
I think it’s also important even if you don’t need a practicing certificate (like if you’re a government lawyer), just because it’s important that you keep yourself up to date with any changes. This is even more true if you work in an area of law that changes constantly.
Plus, as an interview question it shows potential employers that you’re committed to your own development and you understand your compulsory obligations. It’s also a good question to have in the bank in case you get to the end of the interview and can’t think of anything.
The best advice I was ever given re asking questions is to go with the conversation of the interview. While these questions here are good, they're also generic and employers get asked them all the time. Instead of asking the same boring questions, really listen to what interviewers are saying and ask questions based on that. Ask questions specific to the person interviewing you, ask them about their experiences or ask them to elaborate on something they'd mentioned. That shows you were actually listening to what they were saying, and you'll be more memorable for your interesting questions.
and the Iraqi people welcomed the Americans with flowers. I wanted to set a historical event to teach Bush a lesson from the Iraqis, telling him you lied, we did not welcome you with flowers, and instead we are saying goodbye with our shoes.”
Muntaza Al Zaidi, the Iraqi reporter who became known as the guy who threw a shoe at Bush and later ended up in jail for three years because of it.
For years, I opened my 11th-grade U.S. history classes by asking students, “What’s the name of that guy they say discovered America?” A few students might object to the word “discover,” but they all knew the fellow I was talking about. “Christopher Columbus!” several called out in unison. “Right. So who did he find when he came here?” I asked. Usually, a few students would say, “Indians,” but I asked them to be specific: “Which nationality? What are their names?” Silence. In more than 30 years of teaching U.S. history and guest-teaching in others’ classes, I’ve never had a single student say, “Taínos.” So I ask them to think about that fact. “How do we explain that? We all know the name of the man who came here from Europe, but none of us knows the name of the people who were here first—and there were hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of them. Why haven’t you heard of them?” This ignorance is an artifact of historical silencing—rendering invisible the lives and stories of entire peoples.

when you're on Tinder and the shared like you have with a guy is "Ipsy"...
Jada Pinkett Smith’s awesome defense of Willow’s shaved head: "This is a world where women, girls are constantly reminded that they don’t belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination. I made a promise to endow my little girl with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair. It’s also a statement that claims that even little girls have the RIGHT to own themselves and should not be a slave to even their mother’s deepest insecurities, hopes and desires."
I know it’s old news, but I love it. I wish more parents felt this way… Mine didn’t.
I absolutely love this.
