"hey, hey, come on now. it’s surely routine by now in a world like this, right? i don’t wanna lose a hand to a hidden blade you’re keeping down there. you’re free to do the same if it’ll put your mind at ease.”
Of course, he’s joking. but it’s always difficult to tell when he smiles so nonchalantly.
She nearly laughed - humorless and sardonic, of course. A hidden blade - the whole idea seemed comical to her. Granted, not many were familiar with her power and status - it hardly mattered since the world had gone to hell in a handbasket. But that didn't mean that she was above educating those otherwise ignorant.
After all, she hadn't cultivated her talents for nothing.
"I don't need blades," she hissed in distaste, bright green flames beginning to lick up her hand from the tips of her fingers as she observed them idly. "I prefer something with a little more kick."
Without another word, she had sent a blast of plasma his way - whirring just past his head intentionally - though where a wry smile would have been once upon a time ago was now home to a scowl.
"Beat it, kid - or I'll fry you next."
