SPOILER: I'm OBSESSED with Off Campus. 🏒
I was so inspired and moved by this show, these characters, and their stories that I wrote A LOT of words about every episode. It all starts with meeting Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham in "The Deal."
Off Campus Season 1, Episode 1, “The Deal,” reminded me why I love stories and wanted to start telling them.
I’m rewatching THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Everyone please pretend to be shocked!), and I’m always shocked about how much they try to make the audience think that Ric is a vampire. I think when I first watched the show, I was so invested in everyone else that I didn’t even worry or think twice about Ric. But, as an adult who studies these stories, I love that they did that bait and switch with him by revealing that he’s actually a vampire hunter.
You can always tell how I'm doing with how early I start my Vampire Diaries rewatch in the year. If we're keeping track, mark it down for April in 2026. Y'all, it's so hot, and everything is so awful. I'm yearning for the comforts of fall and nostalgia.
The start of this season of The Rookie was SO strong that it made me go back to weekly watches after falling off with Season 7. I’m so sad that the last few episodes haven’t been up to that bar.
Have I mentioned how much I love Dr. Jack Abbot today?
I know I’m not the only one who’s going to watch this episode (or the whole show, really) and feel seen by or recognize what Robby is feeling. These scenes are so brilliantly written and portrayed that watching them feels almost too real. Just great work all around.
This was such a strong episode for Patrick Ball. The range! The script and Ball’s performance represented Langdon’s chronic pain, insecurity in his job, and intentions of accountability. I felt it all in every scene — the weight and the levity in equal measure.
Again, I’m here to say that Sepideh Moafi is doing incredible work as Dr. Al-Hashimi. It’s all in the eyes for me. She’s bearing so much of herself to Robby in this scene. That level of trust and vulnerability can’t be understated.
I’m so sad that Samira was in so few scenes in this one. I get it, given the episode’s content. Other medical cases are taking priority over Orlando’s condition. And I’m sure my perspective would be different if I didn’t know that the next episode would be her last.
What do you mean you’re shocked that Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is even more political and timely than Season 1? It’s almost like comic books and storytelling are inherently political and often hold a mirror up to society, making us think more deeply about the world around us.

To say there is no explicit mention of/presence of romance on The Pitt is to say you're not paying attention to the show. Collins and Robby’s relationship happened before the show, but they discussed it during Season 1. He's jealous of a cop flirting with her at one point; Dana asks how things are between them after the break-up; Collins tells Robby about the abortion she had when they were together. Now, Robby is dating the nurse and case manager, Noelle. Whitaker and Nurse Kim have a flirty dynamic in Season 1. Javadi has a crush on “human Utah” Mateo in Season 1. One of the first things Mateo does upon stepping foot back into that ED is flirt with her in Season 2. Santos and Garcia are in a casual relationship that's begging for a clearer definition, at least from Santos. McKay's ex shows up to the ED (with their son!) in Season 1, and in Season 2, she's talking about wanting to date again. She even sets up a date for when her shift is over. Don’t get me started on Abbot’s feelings for Mohan because I could be here ALL DAY.

Samira has now been presented with the idea of geriatrics being her elective TWICE — and in totally different contexts from two attending who have vastly different dynamics with her. I find everything about this storyline so fascinating.
Everything with McKay hit in this episode. The beat with Roxie’s blanket. The dialogue with Langdon about emotional burnout. Offering rehab centers to the patient. Trying to reach Robby by talking about the experiences of those she’s lost. What a great doctor/character.
