LONGING FOR CHURCH

It’s been a period of time since we went to church, we yearn to go to that holy place. A place of adoration, where we pay our tributes to God and acknowledgement.

How we long to go to church, to worship God besides our brothers and sisters. Gathering together, praying and singing joyfully unto the Lord. That attachment can’t be put in plain words. Granting each other blessings by shaking hands and uniting with the spirit of the Lord. For he said when two or three are gathered in His name He shall be with them.

Church is a place of healing; joy, reconciliation and of harmony. We assemble there to nourish our souls and to honour God, now we can’t make it to church because of this pandemic. The majority of Christians no longer pray or perhaps read the bible, more or less were only feeding their souls when they went to church on Sundays. Throughout this time of quarantine, we ought not to just relax and do nothing. This is the time to make precisely with God, fix our spiritual lives and live a Godly life.

We have to be deliberate and disciplined for us to grow spiritually. Assess yourself where you left God, ask for forgiveness and let him direct you. Wherether you are streaming sermons online today or listening to tapes, keep in mind that it’s about God not the location; the building or being in the assembly. It’s about praising God during these rules and regulations of lock-down. Let’s have revivals wherever we are situated, shortly we will gather together and take pleasure in sermons at church

GODLY RELATIONSHIP

Most of us would love to see ourselves in perfect and Godly relationships. But if one had to enquire how often you pray for your future partner and how often you pray for yourself to fit in your partner’s character; you’d find that the prayer rates is low, if existent at all. And that is the only key applicable.

Trust me, being in a relationship with a person who serves the same God as you is a blessing. We often engage ourselves in relationships without consulting God first, and that is a bad move. It is important to seek God’s leading and approval; but to also ask for confirmations and ultimately let Him be glorified by surrendering your choice for His. Don’t settle for what’s convenient.

It doesn’t matter how kind, sweet and charming that person is, if he or she is not following Christ, you shouldn’t make excuses for being in a relationship with them. Let God work with them first before you start a relationship together. We always limit God because we want our will and not His will, let us seek God first. Let us keep His Word so that He can keep and take care of us.

How wonderful is it to worship and praise God together? Every Sunday morning you wake up and go to church together, everything that you do glorifies our maker. Let your heart be in Christ and live in purity for Christ, so that when your partner prays for you and asks God for you; He or she can find you in Christ. And then, surely your relationship will be a blessing because God is in it.

If you are not in a relationship, this is the perfect -time to ask God and mention all the characters that you need in your partner. Not only that, but also seek God to mould you into the perfect partner for your future-spouse. God knows your heart and He will give you all your desires; just wait until God tells you “Here is the one that I have created just for you.” If you are already in a relationship that is not Godly, it is not too late to seek God’s direction. Ask Him to work on your relationship and be the centre of it.

Praying first should be a priority. A person whom you allow into your life will influence you one way or another – May that influence be Godly and Upright.
