|| Get to know CORALINE JONES who’s TWENTY-TWO years old and a SENIOR in college majoring in UP TO PLAYER. She is from OREGON and is often times mistaken for ANYA TAYLOR JOY while others say she reminds them of CORALINE from CORALINE. ||
HEADCANONS
growing up for coraline was....lonely. her parents always kept themselves busy with their work and there was never really any time for family time unless it was over a bland meal her father made. her neighbors were all eccentric, but old, and she had a love/hate relationship with the neighborhood stray cat.
despite all of this, she did her best to keep herself entertained. she counted the rooms in the apartment complex, she rearranged her room, and mostly, she explored the forest beyond their little pink palace. it was mostly dead trees, some poison ivy, and mud, but to coraline it was her safe haven. she made up grand adventures in her head and spooky stories as she made her way through life.
when it came to friends, she had only one. he was a weird boy that lived in the complex down the road and his name was wyborn, or wybie. at first, he annoyed coraline greatly, but over time he became her rock. the other kids at school were basic, boring, and overall simple and coraline couldn’t stand it. she wanted a room full of colors while everyone stood in their basic black and white. so aside from him, she was a loner.
being a loner meant she marched to her own drum, but she was teased often. she dyed her hair different colors every few months, normally sticking to a shocking blue or darker color. she wore mismatched clothes, she did theater and she skipped school enough to end up in detention more times than she could count. and then once she started speaking about her experience in the other world, she was labeled a freak.
she sticks to her story about the other mother. she lost sleep because of it. she still doesn’t sleep because of it really. and as she got a little older, she found new ways to calm her mind. weed was her go-to, but pills were always on the table if needed.
it was no shocker that she ran away when she did. her future was the only thing her parents talked about when they did pay attention to her and coraline didn’t know what she wanted to do. she loved acting because she could pretend to be someone new. she loved writing because she didn’t sleep that well, so she always had something on her brain to spill onto paper. she loved gardening and getting deep into the dirt. she didn’t want to be boxed into anything. she wanted to do everything. and she needed it all to stop. so she ran.
but she is in no way able to cope with being on her own. even though she was on her own so much, she didn’t like actually being alone. so she went back. and she thought maybe things would change, but they didn’t. in fact, she felt even lonelier than before. her parents never brought it up again and she just....knew she needed to change.
corona was a blessing in disguise. an opportunity to move far away, start over, and not be the weird girl she was known for back home. she didn’t pick a major because she wasn’t sure what to do, but she was going to school as requested. she stayed in the dorms, she tried to branch out, and she tried to come off as normal as she could.
but weird shit went on in corona. magic and whispers of supernatural creatures. it scared coraline and intrigued her at the same time. she wanted to know more about all of it, but she wanted to run fast too. this was the stuff she was trying to avoid and yet...she feels like she needs to know as much as she can.
she hates only having questions and no answers. she is a curious girl by nature and she isn’t afraid to poke her nose where it doesn’t belong for the sake of knowing more.
she really likes photography. she likes looking for the secrets behind photos and capturing memories. she feels like she can really see a person for who they are in a photo. their eyes say it all.
she can be a bit of a stress eater. she smokes so she isn’t stressed all the time, but...sometimes she needs to get that extra cupcake.
her favorite time of day is when it rains. she loves splashing in puddles, getting soaked in the rain, and doing her best singin’ in the rain cover.
sometimes when she doesn’t sleep, she goes out to her favorite rooftop to gaze at the stars.
she is an aries (bday march 21st)
she has recently adopted a black cat named mars
just a mess, but we love her.
