Hey all! I’ve decided that i have Too Many blogs to handle - hence the inactivity here. Due to this, i’ve decided to move cammie to my multi over at @protectxrs.

darlene likes to think that if she hadn’t been destined to be queen, that she would’ve become a knight. it was an honourable position, and one that brought the thrill of battle with it. instead she bore the weight of the crown and the responsibilities that came along with it. though, she muses as she makes her way further into the field, lacking the usual finery that indicates her status, being queen doesn’t mean she can’t help out every now and then.
❝ i appreciate the concern. ❞ lips quirk into a smile, eyes scanning the horizon for any hint of danger before her full attention is turned to the warrior. ❝ but, what sort of queen would i be if i didn’t fight alongside my own people? ❞
both hands rest atop the pommel of her sword, shoulders squared. the posture of a born fighter, a loyal soldier. gaze slides to her queen’s features for a moment, light smile pulling at the corners of her lips. “ a cautious one. ” though the comment is spoken with jest, an attempt to lighten the dark mood that came with battle. “ if you fight with us, feel safe in the knowledge that our sect will always protect you. though i am aware you can certainly handle yourself in battle. call it a precaution. ”

Oh, she likes her. “ I couldn’t agree more. ” Carol nods & then looks in the direction of where they are supposed to go. “ Let’s show them who the hell they’re dealing with, shall we ? I’ll cover ya. ” Firearm ready in case she needs to take someone out.
a light smile pulls at the edges of her lips as the other agrees, one brow arching as she too glanced towards their destination. “ let’s do it. i’m aiming for the side entrance, though i suspect they might have scouts on the roof. ” a quick glance upwards confirms her suspicion, glancing back to the blonde. “ won’t be an issue. ” fingers curl around the ring topped knives drawn from sheathes at her wrists, adjusting the cap upon her head. “ ready ? ”

“i don’t need you to try and protect me, cammie!” as much as she could handle herself, and as much as she hated the idea of the younger woman feeling like she needed to keep her safe, sarah knew she did need help at this point. she’d taken quite the beating already, but she wasn’t going to allow that to stop her. she’d started this fight, and she could see it through. “i’ll be fine, we need to keep moving forward.”
although she understood the other’s reluctance to let her help, it still irritated her. she’s young, it’s understandable that someone older wouldn’t want her help. but sarah didn’t have the luxury of deciding that right now, and could not exactly stop her. “ i get it, you like to do things alone, like to get things done your way. ” gaze moves around the compound, weapon drawn as she stepped in front of sarah. “ but i wasn’t asking and you are in no condition to stop me. ” a quick look over her shoulder with an arched brow was all that was needed to confirm to sarah that she wasn’t joking. “ you need to learn to take a time out. i’m more capable than i look. ”

of course she knows that he does not remember their previous conversations, nor the clues they had investigated, but that did not stop her from feeling comfortable around the other -- or as comfortable as a spy could be around someone else.

of course he worked for their government, she should have guessed really. but for someone to not know what they were trying to investigate ? well that truly was curious. clearly he worked for some special ops or dark team because she knew fine well the governments usual position on messing with their agents minds.
turning her head to glance across at him once more, an arched brow the only sign of her curiosity. “ i know a thing or two about having your mind messed with, and i know it isn’t pleasant. though i’m almost certain that you knew as much already and thus, ” pausing a moment to gesture between the two of them. “ you decided i was your best option. i will admit you have got me curios. though i am also incredibly aware of the fact that helping you could put me in a lot of danger. ” though her clearance level would make it significantly easier to dig around if needed, if she got caught ? well she didn’t want to think about it. “ i think i’m going to need a little more information to gauge just how risky helping you will be. ”

music? sarah’s eyebrows furrowed, concern evident in her features, as she studied the younger woman beside her. even over a year out of the spy game, her training hadn’t gone away; she was used to having to listen out for things that most probably wouldn’t notice, a spy needed to be able to hear threats as quickly as possible. if there was music, even distant, she’d have been able to hear something - but all she was met with was silence. when her memories had come back to her, there’d been certain stimuli that unlocked many of them: photographs, places, similar phrases to those used in the past…music could easily be one of them, though it didn’t seem as if she was hearing anything outside of her own head. it could, however, still be a memory. “i don’t hear anything, cammie,” she admitted, her voice quiet. “does it sound familiar?”
hands run down her face, brow furrowed in a deep frown. hearing the sound had caused goosebumps to raise against her skin, eyes wide as she stared towards the building to try and figure out where it was coming from. at sarah’s response her head whipped around, gaze meeting sarah’s. “ i don’t like it. ” words muttered under her breath, trying to focus on the sound. “ but i recognise it. it was playing. where i was taken. ” hands move to pull her knees closer to her body, squeezing her eyes closed. it was a moment of pure weakness, a childlike fear so clear upon her features

gaze drops to the floor at the question, taking a moment to consider her response. “ yes, i suppose you could call them ghosts. though perhaps not of the supernatural kind. ” a small smile lifts the corners of her lips, trying to lighten the mood some. she had no idea why she even said what she had in the first place, but there was no taking it back now.
