hey, odd question maybe, but do you have any tips/advice on drawing/painting mouths and lips? They always look so soft and natural and expressive in your art ♡

I'm not sure I have any tips or advice as such, but I can tell you how I draw them if that helps? I always start with the line in the middle where the upper and lower lip meet because that already determines most of what I need to now about the mouth I'm going to draw: the angle, the shape and the expression
Then I add the bow on the top and the idk ... the dip? whatever it's called, that part underneath the lower lip and above the chin, and the corners of the mouth
And that's usually it for the lineart (unless the lips are really very distinct or something), the rest I tend to do with colours. So I take the skin tone and make it a little darker, redder and a little more saturated, but there's no real method to this I just eyeball it and see what looks good to me. I determine the shape of the upper lip first by connecting the bow and the corners of the mouth, and then colour that in, and because I'm a control freak I do this on a seperate layer so I can lock the transparent pixels and change only the lip colour later on in case I need to 🤡
Then I lower the opacity of the brush a little and do the same with the lower lip. Colour in the lineart and then start adding lighting/shading and details on top
And that's basically it! Honestly the most important part ist the very first line
The rest is really just flavour
