I'm hesitant to write too much about Hamilton because I feel like everyone who's seen it will emphatically say that it's worthy of the hype and exceeds all expectations (it is and does), but no amount of raving about it will convert the skeptics who are sick of hearing people rave about it. But I will say this: Watching last night's show reminded me of the first time I saw Les Misérables. I was 10 years old and the intricacies of the score blew my mind, the way that recurring melodies were woven throughout a story that, while set in a very specific time and place, was emotionally accessible and thematically relevant. Hamilton is that kind of show -- a classic, timeless piece of art that is deserving of all the praise and accolades it receives. I'm most grateful to have sat in the room where it happens. #hamilton (at Hamilton: An American Musical)
