Hello my name is Shiloh E. Johnson. You may know me as the minister's daughter, but if you take a minute you'll learn that I am so much more. I'm out from under his thumb now and i'm learning that this world is harsh and terrible but it's also really beautiful.

Shiloh? What are you doing in L.A.?

Well I think it’s a great career to go into, you get to help animals and who doesn’t love animals. Well I used to but then I stopped when I moved to Deering so I’m really wanting to get back into it. I’ll take anything I can get, whether that’s screen time in a movie or t.v show or just an extra.

That's precisely my thinking. It just so happened to turn out to be very interesting once I got into it.

So you want to be a vet then? Well I’m still searching for a job but in the meantime I’m volunteering, I want to get back into acting again though.

I do. I guess it's just one of those things I didn't give up on from childhood. 

You act? I didn't know that.

Well we’ll find out, you know. 

I know. It’s really weird. Cool in some ways but really weird in every other way. Like, we all chose or had opportunities to come here to the same city? I mean technically I live in Pasadena, but I work here. It’s so…odd.

Next year. The season should be coming to an end soon. Honestly, it's a bit strange that the leaves haven't started to change, but I heard from a local that LA really only has two seasons. 

I don't technically live in the city either. I guess i'll just have to see who I run into then. It seems an odd twist of fate that everyone left right around the same time and came to the same place.

Yeah, I’m Dani. Yeah I don’t do it as much as I did back in Deering but I’ll start again when I’m not as busy. So what brings you to L.A?

I was accepted to a veterinary program out here. I've got a paid internship at a small clinic in town. What about you?

It is, hugging and smiling are the two things everyone needs to be good at. I know, but I love the sun here. There hasn’t been an awful weather day yet …though maybe I just jinxed that. Everyone is here. I’ve ran into Nora, Reed, Elodie, and Nate. They all talked about the people they ran into. Liam and Brielle, Raime, Faye, literally everyone is out here for one reason or another.

Well, I guess we'll find out. I don't really think the weather is that bipolar, but I could be wrong.

Hugging is like my talent, I pride myself on my hugs. Ah, how are you liking it since you’ve been here? I love it, honestly. So much sun, it just feels cozier than home. I work at a restaurant and I love the house we have so life’s good. Apparently everyone from Deering is here too though.

Well, you should. Hugging is a good talent to have. California is just so different from the way things were back in Deering, in pretty much every way that I can think of. Especially the weather. For a bit I felt like a Popsicle, but I think i'm starting to acclimate. Is everyone really here though? I knew Nate was coming for college, but I hadn't suspected anyone else. I'm here for an academic program.

Uh...yes, I did. Homeless, women's and the animal shelter. Now not so much really, but i'll pick it up again. You're Dani, right?
