No. No. No. NO.
Why were they here? How did they find this cave?! Gloriosa watched from the shadows as the two girls and her pet approached the rock structure that held the geodes. Her geodes. Sunset was reaching for the two. No…please…
She needed them. It…it was the only way to save her camp.To stop Filthy Rich! Gloriosa took a step forward but hesitated. She wanted to confront her but…what if Sunset took them andran off? What if she lost them? These…magical items were herlast hope. She couldn’t take any chances.
Her foot pressed up against something wooden and her green eyes glanced down to see an axe. Timber’s axe. He must’ve beenhere earlier. She glanced back up seeing Sunset reaching out forthem. The counselor looked back down towards the axe. She staredat it for what seemed like forever before slowly bending over to pickit up. Her heart beat raced as she gripped the axe and glanced overto Sunset.
It was just two girls.
Just two.
No one would have to know.
This was to save her camp.
She was doing something good.
Yes…something good.
It would all be okay.
Gloriosa moved forward, her steps barely audible as she fixated solelyon the young girl. Fingers curled tightly around the wooden part of theaxe. Closer…and closer…
She raised the axe as high as she could with all of her strength.
For the good of the camp. For her business.
WHACK.
She heard the scream. The violent bloody scream as the blade of the axe pierced through hair and tender flesh with great power. Fresh blood was quick to come out and drip down from the back of her head and neck.
Gloriosa’s eyes were glued to the scene and yet…she felt nothing. Just…nothing. She acted but did not think. She did not feel.
A foot pressed against her back as she reached to YANK the axe free before swinging once more. This time aiming for the neck. All of her anger, all of her rage was put into this. She imagined Sunset being Filthy Rich. She imagined her being one of her school bullies. That would be them soon.
She watched her tumble down onto rocky exterior, gasping for air as bloodchoked out from her mouth. The look of horror on her face did nothing forGloriosa.
In fact a part of her enjoyed seeing her like this. It was nice having control. Nice to no longer be ignored.
How could one ignore their MURDERER?
“I’m sorry, Sunset. It’ll be okay. Everything is going to be alright. I got this.”
Her words were hollow. Void of emotion. Yet a smile graced across her pink lips. Fingers gripped around the axe as she raised it one more time and prepared to swing despite the feeble protest she heard.
She got this.
